GREAT INTRO'S

Post by karl » Fri Jul 29, 2011 10:12 am

If this has been done before it doesn't matter we can do it again - right?

Choose your favourite intro's from your records, you can choose as many as you like and also add to it at your leisure - if someone has already chosen a title it doesn't matter put it down again as it will show someone else also appreciates that intro; here we go:-

Can't Get Used To Losing You - Andy Williams
I Only Want To Be With You - Dusty Springfield
Walk Like A Man - The Four Seasons
We're Gonna Change The World - Matt Monro
New York, New York - Frank Sinatra
In The Middle Of Nowhere - Dusty
Born Free - Matt
Dixie CHicken - Jack Jones
Wonderful Land - The Shadows
In The Midnight Hour - Wilson Pickett
(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher - Jackie Wilson

We have had something similar Karl, with intoductory verses--so I am guessing you just mean the instrumental intro ?

Here's some great intro's I recall -

Walk Away - Matt
On Days Like These - Matt
The Music Played - Matt
All of a Sudden - Matt
My Guy - Temptations
Runaround Sue - Dion
You Belong to Me - The Duprees
These Boots Are Made for Walkin'- Nancy Sinatra
At The Hop - Danny & the Juniors
Get a Job - The Silhouettes

Most of the above are not instrumental intro's but when you hear the first few notes you can usually recognize the title....
There are many catchy intro's from other Doo Wop artists from the 50s just like the last ones above which I will list at another time!

I luv Bobby Darin singing A NIghtingale Sang In Berkely Square, I heard it on the radio years ago and finally found it on a used album in Boston but the condition was so great I am sure it had never been near a turntable, since then of course all Bobby's albums are on cd, I also have a fantastic dvd - that man could do anything and he could move too.

Mariana & Karl - I was wondering if you had seen Kevin Spacey singing and playing Bobby Darin in the movie "Beyond the Sea"?
I felt he did a great job in the acting and he sounded very close to Darin..............

I';m a Kevin Spacey fan anyway, despite the poor reviews I thought he was brilliant in the role. I liked the movie and bought the dvd when it was released/

Yes, I loved the film, and thought he was great as Bobby Darin.Kevin Spacey---was in "Strictly" or something similar, and sang one of the songs-I think it was "That's All"--I must check it out sometime--however, he sang it really slowly, which is how I usually hear it, whereas in the film he sang it very quickly [as did Bobby Darin]--I love the end, when he says the final "that's all"---and it just ends !!

Although I am not sure if I would like Kevin Spacey oin anything else.
