Matt singing "One Day Soon" from Matt Monro Sings Don Black. A less well known song maybe but a gem in Matt's hands (or voice). Particularly like the final phrase. Brilliant.

A great track, Jon. I also love "Beyond The Hill" from the same album.

Hi John

I'm also a great fan of Beyond The Hill, one of the first Matt tracks I ever heard, on an audio cassette I bought in my local ASDA store many years ago. Couldn't find a CD album with it on (it's not on any currently on release either) so was delighted when Mariana44 sent me Matt Monro Sings Don Black. Love the last phrase (seem to be a lot of them, aren't there?).

Hi Jon. Yes, as far as I know "Beyond The Hill" has only been available on the one cd album, which as you say is no longer available. It is quite a rare cd to find as well.

If There Ever Is A Next Time.
I 'fall' into this song whenever I play it, the arrangement, the vocal interpretation, I simply adore it. :)

"The Miracle of Love" by Ronnie Hilton playing at the moment, a new one for me. I purchased a double cd of his from ebay and it arrived today, I am quite impressed. :D

John, Ronnie Hilton was up there with the best of the crooners, a rich voice and superb diction. He was also a great Leeds United football supporter .
His wife Chrissie has a web-site. A nice story about Ronnie.

Perry Como on at the minute singing "WORLD OF DREAMS". Des O Connor actually wrote this song, believe it or not! Lovely song, one of the last singles Perry made in the mid seventies, although it wasn't a chart hit. :(

There is a clip of Ronnie Hilton on Youtube singing his big hit "No Other Love." Also Go to... www.wafll.com click on downloads where there are a list of anthems for Leeds United with Ronnie singing "The Ballad of Billy Bremner" and "Glory Glory Leeds United" followed by "We Shall Not Be Moved"

Listening to Robert Goulet at the moment singing "I won't send Roses". This is a great song, sung superbly. 8)
