My copy has not arrived yet, although I pre-ordered it round about October last year.

I know that they are planning to do some promotion on this cd---radio Interviews etc---something that has been sadly lacking on his last few releases. Also hope that it is more widely available than the last 2--never saw either of them once in my local HMV.

Hi Mariana

There are already 12 customer reviews at Amazon.
It is strange you have not received your copy when it is listed as "in stock".

I think you may be thinking of "The Twelfth of never" cd, which has not long been out--it is basically a reissue of the first 3 lp's that Johnny Mathis recorded---but indeed a bargain, even so.

The new one is called "A Night to Remember"--I think in HMV about £8.99,
songs from the 70's.

There is an interview article with Johnny Mathis on the BBC News Entertainment website now in which he talks about his new album and his hope of touring again in the UK.

I'm sure you probably know that A Night To Remember debuted at #29 and sold 12,047. The real question is: is Mariana's CD (or CDs) included in the 12,047? :?:  I wonder if she has received either CD yet? I know it's a long way from Guernsey to Kent. :?

Bassey loves Mathis!

Post by Terence Lee » Sat Mar 08, 2008 6:24 pm

When Shirley Bassey went skiing at Xmas with ex-husband Sergio and the kids were small, she said all she needs is her Mathis Records and she is happy.

Mariana, have you read this article on Johnny Mathis?

Thanks Terence--yes I had seen that article--he mentions maybe doing UK concerts this year. We will just have to wait and see !!

I actually received my new JM cd yesterday---about 2 weeks behind---never mind --really worth waiting for---some lovely songs--most of them fairly well-known from the 70's.

There is a short question-and-answer interview with Johnny Mathis in the latest edition of "Mojo" magazine (dedicated to rock music mainly!), which is available in all good newsagents, including WH Smith, in which he discusses, among other things, the music he likes to listen to (i.e. not his own).

Hi Mariana

Johnny did a 70 minute set at the Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre on Saturday night.

I was told he opened with a Mancini medley. He looked great and sang beautifully. His hits were adorned with new arrangements and he sang all the verses too.

He did a medley of standards to die for including Secret Love, When I Fall In Love, etc.

A highlight was a Brazilian medley!

Tickets were priced from $58 to $78.

Yes, sounds like a good show and a nice picture too. It's a great pity that more performers don't sing the verses of these great songs of which we know there are many.
