Hi Marian

What a HUGE sigh of relief from me!
After such a big build up I am glad you enjoyed it! :)

I recorded it, but have yet to watch last night's episode.
I do know what you mean with reference to the 'American' celebrities who mean nowt to us Brits - as there were several on the first two episodes that left me scratching my head! :)

It is certainly an eye opener to see these people, young and old, make an attempt at an impersonation!
The first week was very funny as there seemed to be a constant stream of hopeless acts! :)

Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! :)

Haven't watched this yet, but will try to remember it next week.
Now that The Uk One And Only is finished the next weekly show to take off will be Andrew Lloyd Webber who is searching for an actress to take the part of Nancy and Three young actors to play the part of Oliver in a new production of "Oliver."
It's bound to be popular with the viewers like all the others have been, but as successful as it may have been on stage and screen, wonderful songs etc, we've now personally seen and heard enough of this one.

Well, yes I'm sure in spite of... I will get as hooked as the next one for the competetive aspect, except that there was a rumour that a search for an Eliza Doolittle for "My Fair Lady was to be considered. I would have preferred that.

I think there have been several other "Shows" mentioned-I had heard about "My Fair Lady"--plus another one that I cannot remember at the moment.

I read somewhere that Jessie Wallace [aka Kat Slater] is desperate to play Nancy in "Oliver"-so much so that she intends to audition for it.

Just watched "The Next Best thing" last ofthe auditions.

Barbra Streisand looked a lot like her---although the voice was a bit off at times-her speaking voice was good.

I really liked the Frank Sinatra--much better than the guy in "The One and Only"--he looked and sounded good.

And I also liked the Elvis who went through--miles better than all the Elvis's who went before him. I am looking forward to the shows now, as I missed a lot of the first ones to go through.

Hi Marian

I am so glad you like this show, I quite liked this weeks, I agree the chap who played Elvis was very good indeed.

What did you think to the young lady who came on as Marilyn Monroe, went through, then returned as Shania Twaine too!?

The editing on the four Tina Turners made me laugh! :)
It can be funny at times, and this is what appeals to me :)

Sooooooo glad you are enjoying it :)

Hi Gray. I liked the girl better when she did Marilyn Monroe -she looked more like her than she did Shania Twain--neverethelees a very talented young lady ! Yes the Tina Turners were very funny-although I did not think the one that they chose was the best-in fact , none of them were !!

I agree Marian, I was shocked when the jury expressed their enthusiam for Tina Turner.

It's a semi final next week so I suppose it'll get much more serious now.

Marian, the girl who mimicked her had her off to a tee! :)

We also thought the best ones went through.

I did indeed--I was amazed that Dolly Parton did not go through--yet Robin Williams did--I guess they wanted a mixture. I thought Roseanne was very good!!.I thought the 2 guys "The Honeymooners" ?? were not very funny--in fact, I thought at first they were Laurel and Hardy, and maybe they would have been better as Laurel and Hardy---or was that who they were trying to be ??

I think either Elvis or Frank Sinatra will win--possible Barbra Streisand.
