I found out from the friend I will be staying with in Sydney in November that Russell Watson is appearing there on my last night in the city, on checking for tickets he found it was almost sold out but we could get seats at either $160 or $190 - I like Russell but not THAT much, for that price I'd want Placido Domingo!!!!

The previous night The Moody Blues are playing the same theatre, wonder how much they are charging

My friend was treated to a Russell Watson concert for her 70th Birthday--at the Royal Albert Hall, in July I think it was--she said he was amazing. !! I think the tickets were about £70.00 each--so yes, it is a lot of money !

Will be be in the Sydney Opera House-I think it would be amaxing seeing a concert there. I know someone who was there a few months ago, and she climbed over the bridge--they have to wear special clothing-like a wet suit .

No he's appearing in a lovely old theatre called The State.

My sister & bro-in-law did the bridge climb, you have to have done the daytime climb before they allow you to do the night climb, however that is NOT something on my itinerary!!!!

However yes Marian I would love to see a show in the Opera House as it's an amazing building and much higher than you realise.

We hope Russel Watson continues to get aupport. We believe that he is singing so much better now than before he had the brain tumour operations. Much more controlled.

I have a friend who is a very enthusiastic fan of Russell's, and she went to several of his concerts a couple of months or so ago. He is doing well both health and singing wise, and he has very loyal fans.
I think the cost of tickets for his UK tour were comparible with other concerts at the moment.

Yes but the price in Australian dollars is almost double that, there is no way I would pay that!

I have two of his dvd's and all his cd's Marian so that will do me, so many big stars by-pass Edinburgh nowadays and head for Glasgow instead, Mr. Jones are you reading this???? (Jack, not Tom!)

But Edinburgh and Glasgow are not too far away, are they ?

I think Marian means from each other Karl. Not too far to travel.
Lots of my friends travel up to Glasgow from all parts of England and Wales to see Jack.

Yes Marian-I did mean that. When I was in Scotland, I found it strange that when there were Johnny Mathis concerts in Glasgow, the people from Edinburgh did not go, and the year the concerts were in Edinburgh they would not travel from Glasgow. My friends and I travelled thousands of miles up and down England, Scotland, and Wales to see Johnny Mathis.

I've done it in the past Marian but it's all money and with this trip looming up I am curtailing everything - plus the fact if JJ, JM and the rest can't be bothered to come to visit us in Edinburgh we won't go to visit them!!!! ?

It always amazes me Marian they say there is a recesssion and yet they ask silly money for many shows and evern more riciculous prices for a progamme, after the show what do you do with it? I'd rather put that money to their cd or dvd.

I just came across a few programmes that were in the loft, so I now know I saw Glen Campbell in 1975!
