I have a book somewhere on the life of F Scott Fitzgerald--I forget what it is called just now, but I know I read it many times--it was written by Sheilah Graham, who was born in Uk, but became a big well-known Hollywood Columnist-she diEd several years ago. She had a long affair with F Scott Fitzgerald. Funnily enough, I have never fancied reading any of his books.

Did anyone watch ''The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas'' last night.

My heart was in my mouth even though I had seen it before and knew the outcome :( :(

HI Sandra,

Didn't watch the movie last night, but I have seen it before.
So sad.

Also, I watched with horror the news from Libya a few days ago and the massacre of people trapped in a barn.

We humans never seem to learn from own history, do we? :(

I agree with you all once is enough seeing that film. I was really uncomfortable with it the first time around.

I watched ' Mary Queen of Scots' last night starring Vanessa Redgrave and Glenda Jackson ( 5 Academy Award Nominations) including Best Actress! This film was only released on DVD in the last year. The facts are true, except one part in the film, not like Braveheart as an example! Like most films I like, the film soundtrack from this film had a LP release, but half of the soundtrack has different arrangements of the main theme. However, I have two different recordings on Limited CD's (3000 copies only), plus the original LP! Another favourite is 'A Bridge Too Far' , Dickie Attenborough's take on the battle for Arnhem in 1944. A golfing pal, Adam Urquhart's father was a military advisor on the film. Sir Sean Connery played his fathers role as Major-General Roy Urquhart OM. Adams sister is married to Sir Menzies Campbell! Roy is buried in the small graveyard at Lake of Montieth, Stirlingshire,Scotland. Adam has photos of his dad and Sean both wearing battle dress on the set.

Hi Sandra, Lovely song from Matt. I shared a flat with a friend in the early 80's, working as a freelance photographer for a Filmusic magazine, and in our John Barry collection was this single with 'Wish Now Was Then' on the B side. We also had a demo single from 'Born Free'!

Anyone see Vantage Point last night? Another assasination /kidnap of the President all action movie. Rather confusing following the plot at times, but great special effects and never a dull moment. :D

I have that on dvd Marion I thought it was a great edge of the seat thriller that all came together in the end - the Vantage Point was interesting seeing it from all the angles!

Was watching "Blitz" with Jason Statham and David Morrissey. Didn't like what happened to David Morrisey's charachter in the end. Then the new X-Men movie and a return to an old favourite Mamma Mia.
