I totally agree L&H.......so I wonder why Russell Davies did not play Matt's version......................I bet he has never heard it  :!:

Not sure about that Robert. but he did say that there were so many recordings of this song and he also said that it didn't somehow suit an Italian American voice, ( even though Al Martino recorded a good version ) and so he chose a Jewish boy from Brooklyn, Steve Lawrence.

I think Bobby Darins version of "More" is one of the best--and he is an Italian American --does Russell Davies know what he is talking about-??-Has he heard all the different versions of this song--I cannot say that I have heard even one that I do not like.

OK I know Bobby Darin, Steve Lawrence and of course Matt but who on earth is Russell Davies? - obviously someone fluent in verbal diarrhoea and I hope I got the spelling right?

Russell said that he had listened to many renditions recently and the Italian Americans didn't get it right it seemed to him.
The song from the movie Mondo Carne received a grammy award and an Oscar nomination. :)

I am not sure either Karl-but I gather that he must be a radio presenter.

Hey Mariana, what's the verdict on Blake Shelton. I love him!! LOL. You should check out his video called "Honeybee" on YouTube.

Listening to Maroon 5, and Matt's American "Walk Away" lp on cd in the office.

I guess it has been filmed already, so if so, it could be on at any time.

Hi Eman--not heard Blake Shelton yet--was just too tired last night.

But I did see that he is one of 4 artists nominated for a Country Music award--one of the others was Taylor Swift--who I quite like, I have to say--the other 2 I had never heard of---oh , I think one was called Brad Paisley or something similar, and he is hosting with Carrie Underwood---hasn't she done well after American Idol ?

But it seemed strange seeing Blake Sheltons name, when just a few weeks ago, I had never heard of him--I will try and listen tonight--or it may be a case of downloading it so I can listen on my ipod when I travel to London next week.

Hi Mariana, I'm just excited to see what you think of Blake Shelton. As for Brad Paisley, he's just ok in my book, nothing to write home to Mother about   . I think he's trying too hard to be like Jimmy Buffett. I reverted back to my childhood today and was listening to David Cassidy's "Dreams Are Nuthin' More Than Wishes" lp. A very under rated lp here in the U.S. but I remember it being a British # 1 lp helped by the single "Daydreamer". Love this album as it takes me to a easier time of ice cream and candy floss on a summer day, and then having a stomach ache and my Mum yelling at me for eating too much junk..

Hi Eman-I really enjoyed listening to Blake Shelton-I fell asleep before I got to the end--but I liked his voice and i liked the songs that I heard, so I may get a couple more-my sister is a big country fan, so I share them with her. i have not heard much of Jimmy Buffeet-only singing with Alan Jackson-on "Its 5 o clock somewhere"-I love that song.

My sister used to really love David Cassidy--she had a great vidoe of him in concert -i think it was off the tv.

Funnily enough, one of the Christmas preents i bought her last year was a book called "I think i love you"--a novel about a David Cassidy fan--but she recently managed to buy it for her Kindle too !!

I agree some of this old music is very nostalgic !!

Hey Mariana,
I'm glad you liked Blake Shelton. Check out his latest song "Honeybee" you love the video. It's pretty cute.

I have the I Think I Love You book. My sister got it for me just cuz. My first trip to England was in 1974, my Grandfather and Uncle came to the US and got me out of school for 3 months, so I could go see David Cassidy's Farewell Tour. That was the infamous tour where the girl died of a heart attack. They told my teacher to give them the work for the last 3 months and they had a private teacher for me (and they did) and the teacher would mail off the assignments for the rest of the year back to her so that I could advance to the 5th grade. I tell you British teachers are pretty strict and don't deal too well with non-sense as I soon learned..LOL!!

LOL That was the best time. I was a Cassidy fan, and then came back a Bay City Rollers after seeing them on the telly!!
