Matt Monro Sings

Post by Michele Monro » Tue Mar 18, 2008 11:30 am

Not Now Music have informed me this morning that the pressing plant that makes their CD's went into administration last Friday. That will now mean a delay on 'Matt Monro Sings' of at least 2 weeks while they reformulate and find a new plant to press it. With Easter in-between these delays are unavoidable.

I am sorry for any inconvenience to anyone that has pre-ordered the CD.

Just checked HMVs website and "Matt Monro Sings" has gone up by £1 to £3.99 :!: :!: how can they put it up (I know it's only one pound) but how can they put the price up, before it has even been released. Did someone at HMV make a boo boo when pricing it up at the origianal price of £2.99

I had gathered that £4.99 was the original price and HMV reduced it to £2.99---so I can guess they can still say st £3.99 it is reduced.

Why did HMV reduce the price to £2.99 in the first place. Then put it back up to £3.99 a few day's later

HMV's prices are almost like an airline's prices. They change daily. It's probably some complicated program that project earnings, so the prices seem to change randomly. I have seen this happen for pop music, but it does seem to happen very frequently for the Matt Monro CDs.

I think HMV realised they priced the CD up too cheaply at £2.99. Then with all the pre-orders they must have had from "us lot" and others, they realised the 2 disc CD was far too cheap at that price  also, they probably thought they could make an extra "bob or two" no doubt

Mark, Play.com originally had it for pre-order for £4.99....................but they have now obviously brought it down by £2  but once they realise HMV have it back up to £3.99, I'm sure they will follow suite

But you are probably too late with your instructions Mark, as most of us have pre-ordered from HMV for £2.99  :D

I agree with Paul's analysis of HMV's CD prices changing all the time: in Bond Street the new Johnny Mathis CD is £12.99 and in the Oxford Street still £9.99 - on the same day!
