Saveen was originally a carpenter but was injured by an exploding bomb during the war that damaged his lungs. He wasn't able to carry on with his work, so he turned to ventriloquism and was discovered by Val Parnell.
Daisy May was a schoolgirl puppet that he had along with other stuffed animals that he usd in his act.
The "Daisy May song always came as he finished his act with...
Daisy May, People say you'll marry me one day.
And by the way you sigh and look me in the eye.
I somehow think that Daisy May. Ahhhhh :lol:

"The world is just a great big onion" -think this may have been Marvin Gaye, and Tammi Tyrell

or the other onion song by Harry lauder- " will ye stop your picklin' Jock!
