Hi Marian

I was about to order it but a call came in and I was so ecstatic after receiving news that Dame Shirley Bassey is at no. 3 on the Billboard charts that I forgot to add to my cart!!!

Be careful Terence as there's a shortened version available, or used to be, which cuts out all the middle of the film. The full version is on "The Pete Walker Collection" which has five different Pete Walker films so is quite expensive.

You can buy them separately Terence. Just need to be sure you get the full version. There are a couple on ebay at the moment, listed under Pete Walker. These are Region 1 DVDs. I might be able to copy from a video I have. The DVD I have is protected.

I watched "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" on tv earlier this evening, hadn't seen this new version before, I thought it was almost as good as the original. 8)

Hi Marian

I saw The Comebacl donkey's years ago, so long in fact that I cannot remembr anything of the film, apart from the poster! :)

Thanks for mentioning it, I shall try track it down! :)
Do you know why there is more than one version of the film?

Not really Gray. When is was first released on video I bought a copy really cheaply, which turned out to be heavily edited, so I assume there are quite a number out there that are like this. I should think the later DVDs would be fine though.

H. here. Watched "La vie en Rose" the other night. Great film, Marion Cotillard was superb in the Piaf role. If you enjoy Piaf's singing, this is a must.-----Posting No.23 :P

Hi Harry

Amanda and I watched La vie en Rose about a month ago also, it was very good indeed.
Brilliant lead performance.

Here's to number 24! :)

I normally don't read this thread, because I rarely see movies. However, I did see Vie En Rose two weekends ago. I enjoyed it very much. I would have preferred more of her music life featured. I saw a documentary on Edith Piaf many years ago, and I believe she was nicer than often portrayed in the film. I really didn't like Marion's singing on Padam Padam. She should have gone directly to the m and not emphasised the vowel, but perhaps I'm being picky. I liked it best when she lipsynched the songs, especially on Non, je ne regrette rien, which was incredibly moving and a perfect ending.

Wow, Jeff, it's nice to see your comments regarding film!
Where did you see this movie?
In a cinema or did you rent a dvd?

Marian, I have requested 'The Comeback' from my dvd rental people so I shall let you know what I think when I view it! :)
When you say your video version of the film is heavily editied, do you mean in terms of violence etc or whole sections of the plot-line are missing? (hope it's not plot-lines!)
