Thanks Marian for the info on Leapy Lee. I always thought he had an odd stage name, but loved his album when I was a kid.

This was the programme Eman..
"Pop star of the 60's Leapy Lee has been performing in Mallorca for more than twenty years.
His hit record "Little Arrows" is still part of his show and he has recently been seen on the T.V. show "Passport to the Sun" which followed his lifestyle, including the birth of twins with his wife Pauline.
Leapy Lee continues to pack the house with his popular style of skiffle and rock 'n' roll combined with his own brand of wit."
:D
This was a few years ago though Eman.

Thanks Marian, maybe the next time I'm around in Spain, I'll have to check out Mallorca and see if he's performing. Hmm I think Val Doonican resides there also besides England. :D

Hi Eman-I had such a big surprise this evening , when i was making my evening meal and listening to the radio---I heard a familar voice and a familiar song---it was Blake Shelton singing "honeybee"--this is the first time I have ever heard him on Uk radio--and they said he had won the CMA award--then went on to mention his new cd--which I just received yesterday--I was so excited to hear it. After not even knowing his name a month ago, it has cropped up yet again !!!

Mariana, It's good to know Blake is being recognized elsewhere besides the US. I think if he keeps up with his current style, he could be big internationally!! :D

Hi Eman--I think if any song is going to crack the Uk market for Blake, it will be "Honeybee"-it is so catchy.

Karl-I have only ever heard Jackie de Shannon sing one song-"What the world needs now"

Hi Mariana, yes I think that song already put him in our Pop Charts. It is catchy and the video is pretty cute.

Jackie DeShannon also sings "Needles and Pins", "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" and "When You Walk In The Room". I hate to say it but I like Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas version of "When You Walk In The Room" much better.

Don't you mean The Searchers? They recorded When You Walk In The Room & Needles & Pins.

Actually this cd of Jackie's is pretty good.

Friday Night Is Music Night is a live programme Karl, it was David Bedella singing Walk Away, a good singer and musical stage actor. :)

Incidently talking about Walk Away, there is a video clip on Youtube with Brenda Lee singing this song in Spanish and accompanied by Jeff Gordon
To be honest I didn't know whether to laugh or cry

Thanks Lena & Harry I sometimes listen to Friday Night Is Music Night.

WHat was up with Brenda Lee, was it bad? I have her singing Walk Away in English on an LP and I think she's really good at it.

I just watched this clip, I though the two guys were excellent, Brenda would have been better singing in English, they say it was Spanish but it sounded more Japanese to me especially at the end and I know Brenda has sung in that language in the past.
