"AMERICAN IDOL" 7
I have not seen the results yet, so will watch sometime today.
I think David A sang that way, just because of the song that he sang. I am a bit surprised at all the praise being heaped on David Cook---I cannot say that I have been impressed with any of his performances-and although his voice is Ok, it does not seem to be very distintice.
I am surprised about the ALW songs--although I vaguely remember Ryan saying that ALW would be one of the mentors-I had forgotten that.
I am hoping they sing some of the more unusual ALW songs---not stuff like "Any dream will do"---I am really looking forward to the next show.

I agree about David Cook Marian, and I can't actually invisage him being a "popstar" anyway.
I enjoyed Elliot Yamin's song too Paul. It was a touching moment when he displayed the message to his mum, who died recently, and had always been in his audience.
I missed Mariah Carey, as my daughter phoned just before she sang.
It'll be interesting to see Andrew Lloyd Webber as the mentor next week.

I was a little disappointed on the ALW theme---i think Brooke chose totally the wrong song--if she had sung something like "Tell me on a Sunday" [sorry guys--that's my fave tune at the moment]---but I am sure she would have been much more suited to that song.
I really think that David Cook was the best tonight, singing "The music of the night"
I think either Jason---or Brooke [but I hope not] to go tomorrow-i think I will stick with Jason. Have I got the name right---yes I have, it is Jason that I mean.

It was a shame about Brooke forgetting her lyrics and having to start again, otherwise she was o.k. I thought she sounded a bit like Petula Clark tonight, to be honest, perhaps it was the way she sang the song.
I thought both the David's were good tonight, I too think it will be either Brooke or Jason to go.

Hi Terence, I think Carly was the wrong choice too, she has such a strong voice, but maybe it's her tattooed arm that puts voters off! It would me.
We don't actually get the results programme in the U.K. until Friday evening, so I'm afraid you rather let the cat out of the bag tonight Terence

Well, luckily I did not see these postings till just now--I am amazed that Carly went--she has such a strong voice, and [apart from the tattoo] is vey attractive.
Jason should definately have gone--even he thought that he was going---I have been thinking for the last few weeks he would go, but he is hanging in there---he's a nice guy--just not a brilliant singer--and he murdered "Memory"--even ALW commented on the fact that it was the wrong song for him-but he wanted to do it anyway ! I am really glad that Brooke is still there--again, she seemed really shocked that she was still in !!
Neil Diamond week should be interesting--is it just a coincidence that he has a new cd out--as did Mariah, and Dolly Parton ??

I remembered, and I actually saw the show tonight!
I wasn't particularly impressed though. I thought I would enjoy the Neil Diamond songs, but to me they all seemed a little lack lustre.
I actually preferred Brooke's second song and both Syesha's to the boys tonight.
I missed Carly, and I've no idea who will leave tomorrow.
