Downton Abbey Series 2

Post by Eman » Mon Nov 07, 2011 5:58 pm

Just read on my FB page that Downton Abbey Series 2 ended and there will be a Christmas special? I wonder how that's going to be run here in the U.S. as we don't get to see it until January. Oh well I'll cheat and order the box set of Series 1 and 2 from Amazon UK   . Sorry folks, I'm addicted to this show after seeing series 1.

Yes, the Christmas special has been filmed, and apparently is being edited at the moment.
Hope you get to see it in the U.S. without too long a wait.
We live not far from Highclere Castle where the series is filmed Eman. :D

Marian, it's going to be shown next year I think around January 12. I'm gonna cheat and have already pre-ordered the second series from Amazon UK. Suppose to come out this month, so I hope to have seen it by Christmas. Really you live near where they film it wow!!! That's so cool.

I think I must be one of the few people not to have seen this show---I missed the first few episodes, and it did not seem worth catching up on--which I regret now, as everyone seems to love it.

Yes Eman, Highclere Castle is open to the public on certain days and we visited a few times before it became famous as Downton Abbey. It is the home of the Lord and Countess of Caernavon and there are many artifacts there brought back from Egypt by the Lord Caernavon who along with Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun.

Mariana, I didn't see the first series broadcasted but bought the DVD on a whim because it had one of my favourite actors Hugh Bonneville in it, plus Maggie Smith . I watched it and was hooked instantly. Another one I was hooked on but it never had a second series was "The Cazalets". LOL..I instantly get so involved in these dvds, that sometimes I forget to eat meals when I'm watching cuz the stories are so good.

Marian, if I'm ever in England again, I may have to check it out!! I love going to interesting places like that.

You would be busy Eman--there are so many places like this around-and once they get used in a series like this one, they attract lots of visitors.
