something more about me and what I like

Post by yari48 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 10:49 am

OK, so I am also a huge tv show freak, Inspector Morse being my no 1 favorite ( I have all Morse dvds ), I got signed photos by Colin Dexter and Kevin Whately also. Poirot ( D Suchet) and Marple ( Joan Hickson) are great also, aswellas the most popular british show at the moment "Heartbeat". We do get all those shows here, Bergerac, Midsommer murders,Frost, Emmerdale, Lewis, older ones also Family at the war, Upstairs downstairs and many others, we also get US shows even faster than british ones! So, yes I love SOCCER, I played myself in early 70s. I don't fancy any teams specially but Sami Hyypia and Liverpool are pretty good, so are the others. About the war histories, Lauri Torni aka Larry Thorne. I am member in his Memorial Guild here. He was our national hero and he became a national hero in the USA also as being a soldier in Green Berets and the secret SOG. He was MIA and KIA oct 18th 1965 near Laotian border. Google if you are interested. He was also the real life person in the book Green Berets "Sven Kornie" and John Wayne played him in the movie. Very interesting person indeed. Unconventional warfare interests me, mostly because many Finns fought in Vietnam,Laos and Korea as members of special units of US military. Some of them even created the winter war tactics for the US army! And those are still in use. I know many US "Green Berets", few of them fought in WWII, behind the enemy lines as members of the OSS, Jedburgh. Also there are men , who were in the Pentagon as generals and with Delta Force and few VN Veterans were even in Iraq and Afghanistan. I just want to know what happens around and what has happened. World history is so very inetresting. But the good music is number one. :)
