St. George's Day

Post by Hilary » Wed Apr 23, 2008 9:49 am

Morning all,

I would like to wish everyone a VERY Happy St. George's Day.
How shall we celebrate this great day I wonder!
Maybe a glass or two of something, a nice box of chocolates and listening to one of Matt's wonderful CD's. :D :)

Have a good day everyone!
We went on a car rally for St George's Day on Sunday, but were late at the start so missed out on the iced buns with St George's flag on them, a flag for the car, which we probably wouldn't have used anyway, and being flagged off at the start. We followed the route for a while, and then stopped at a lovely little pub for a fantastic Sunday lunch. So I feel we have already had our St George's Day!

We're having a traditional roast for dinner - thought that all the ingredients we're English but just noticed the Rosemary to go with the Lamb is from Ethiopia! Shame on waitrose for not gettting it closer to home! We usually have some growing outside the back door but we'd run out!

Have to say that I wasn't planning the meal specifically for St Georges Day! Like most English folk, I always forget about Patron Saints Day! Maybe we should move the 'Mayday' Bank Holiday to 23rd of April. But then I suppose we'd have to Bank Holidays on ST Andrews Day and St Davids Day

Here I go again, I hear those trumpets blow again.......
