X FACTOR USA 2011
Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
I just read on AOl, that Simon will not be renewing Nicoiles contract next year--Good !! It looks as though Cheryl has had the last laugh !!
Like the Uk X factor--most of the winners have just faded away--apart from over here Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke--but biggest of all-and they did not win, is JLS--and potentially One Direction.
But not Little Mix-I cannot believe they won.
I suppose out of the American Idol, the only ones I can really remember are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
Are we the only 3 people on this Forum watching this show ???

Woo-Hoo..bye bye Nicole..I'm too much of a gentleman to say what I'm thinking so I won't!
Mariana those are the only two American Idol winners that are making a name for themselves and doing well, along with runner up's Clay Aiken and Chris Daughtry. The rest...you're like who? Oh yeah that person..LOL
Wasn't there a X-Factor winner named Shayne Ward? My Uncle sent me his cd's before.

Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
I have a Christmas cd by Clay Aiken that a friend sent me a while back---
it is not the best Christmas cd ever--but it is Ok.

Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
Mariana, I got it for my Mum and she likes it but really doesn't care if she hears it. You are right it's not the best cd. Although I did nick some of her Celtic Thunder cd's and listen to them in my car, like the Christmas one. Well naughty me I burned a copy and returned her original.
I asked my Mum well why didn't I know about these guys and she said because you're to busy listening to that MORRISSEY CREATURE or the Weirdo of the Month and her and my Dad laughed!! I guess I'm a converted Celtic Thunder fan!! Though two of the original members quit. One Paul Byrom is solo and the little kid (now late teen) Damian McGinty is on Glee!

Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
Yes, Marian, we are the only three watching this show! I'm still pretty surprised that Simon is dropping Nicole. He's probably still bitter because they didn't allow him to use Cheryl Cole because no one in the US knows her. I hope Nicole returns to The Sing Off.
I saw a long interview with Rachel yesterday and she said she's doing fine. She said she was more upset about Drew leaving than herself leaving. She said Nicole cried for 1.5 hours afterwards. Melanie also cried forever, and Chris Rene hugged her for what seemed like 15 minutes. Josh told her "you're gonna do fine". Rachel said her mother helped her so much.
Many of the American Idol contestants (besides just Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood) have had long careers:
Diana DeGarmo starred on Broadway for quite a few months or even possibly years. She now has a contract role on the soap opera The Young and the Restless.
Fantasia has had many successful R & B albums and written her autobiography. She also starred in The Color Purple on Broadway.
Kimberly Locke has had several successful albums and has been on many TV shows, especially reality shows.
Taylor Hicks had his own show in Las Vegas for a long time.
Kelly Pickler has had several big country albums.
Chris Daughtry's group Daughtry has had a few big albums, with singles that are constantly played on Adult Contemporary radio stations.
Ruben Studdard had several hit albums, a few of them being gospel. He recently recorded an album with Clay Aiken.
Mandisa has released several gospel albums; I believe I read she was voted gospel artist of the year recently.
David Archuleta has had a couple big albums and tours regularly.
Elliott Yamin has released a couple albums and seems to always touring the smaller club scene.
Jordin Sparks toured with Beyonce and had a huge radio hit with Chris Brown, No Air.
Kris Allen had a big radio hit, but his albums haven't sold too well. Lee DeWize is about the same, which is a shame as I really liked his singing. Adam Lambert has probably been the most successful of the recent winners.
Scotty McCreery's debut album topped the Billboard top albums chart (overall and country).

Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
Out of those names , most people over here would only know Kelly Clarkson & Carrie Underwood--unless they watched the show !!
Why are you surprised that Simon is dropping Nicole--it was obvious that she did not vote Rachel out because she believed that she was the worst singer--that would have been acceptable---but she could not make a decision, so took the easy way out---and that was not fair on Rachel--being voted out because Nicole was unable to decide.

Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
I thought Simon would keep her as he loves tension and drama.
Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
I only read it on the AOL news page---I guess it may not be true. I wolud prefer to see Cheryl back as a judge--Paula was Ok--and I loved Kara Diguardi as a judge--where did she vanish to ??

Re: X FACTOR USA 2011
Jordin Sparks's single No Air was huge in the UK, so some people would know her.
Fortunately only one UK X Factor contestant made it to the US and that was Leona Lewis. Even more fortunate for us is that she only had two hits here: Bleeding Love and Better In Time. We were spared from hearing her horrific covers of Run and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. Since she can't get a hit with original material, she's released another cover; this time it's Nine Inch Nails's Hurt. I'll try to avoid hearing it.
After being fired from American Idol, Kara Dioguardi went to some songwriting show on cable TV. I don't know if it was successful or not; I'm assuming not. I didn't like her on AI. I can't remember if she was on for one or two seasons.
