I'D DO ANYTHING .
I was not sure about the song choices either. I hated Jessie's song --it may even be bad enough to put her in the bottom 2 tomorrow--although if she did I am pretty sure that ALW would not vote her out.
I liked Niamh--and for once I liked Ashley. And I thought Jodie was very good too. I was not keen on Rachel or Samantha.
It may be Ashleys week to go this week.

We are not quite sure who chooses the songs, we understand that it's mainly ALW, although tonight he said that he didn't know one of the songs. We enjoyed the treble efforts tonight. The girls were all so good.
As far as Jessie is concerned and her rank Irish brogue and Rachel too come to that, in spite of Barry saying that Nancy could have been Irish,
for goodness sake,
this would have to be part of their rehearsing for the role. The audience have to be able to hear the words.
Lionel Bart would turn in his grave.

I really didn't like any of the songs in last nights show except 'I say a little prayer for you', but I wasn't really bowled over by Ashley's delivery of that!
The trio's were a nice change, with the younger girls having the slight edge I think.
Its hard to say who should go at this stage, Ashley so looks the part of Nancy but I'm not sure if her singing is enough. Jodie is growing on me - she looks like a Nancy and her singing is pretty good. Oh well - we'll know whose going home in a couple of hours!

We were out last night and didn't see the show and for some reason our tape didn't work
so we had to be content to just watch the sing off on the internet.
We expected Ashley to go, couldn't help but feel sorry for her after these rollercoaster past few weeks, but at least she has shown that she has will and stamina and would have been capable of coping with the gruelling weeks of playing that role and any tough critisism.
That is part of the package required.

Aww - sorry to hear Holly was upset Gray
it's funny how things on TV can effect you at that age - I remember being really upset when the 'Blue Peter' team announced that Jason, the Siamese Cat, had died. That was in about 1974!
I think the thing with Ashley is that she changes her style all the time to suit the song she is singing. She did an American accent (pretty well!) when she did 'Big Spender', and was doing a diva-esque interpretation of 'I say a little prayer'. You never know quite what to expect from her, and that may be the sign of a proper actress. Marc and I both said that we'd have gone home happy if we heard a Nancy sing 'As long as he needs me' as well as Ashley did last night
Ashley has indeed proved that she is a real trouper, and in an interview on BBC TV this morning revealed that ALW has already phoned her and told her that she can expect some sort of offer from him this week
Hope that cheers Holly up Gray

Rachel was definately miffed last night--and she showed it---not very professional.
I do not want Samantha to win--I just do not like her much.
I'm still going for Jodie. I think Ashley had a good run foir her money, but it was definatley time for her to go.
Not sure how long Jessie can last with her broad accent--It does not seem to notice so much with Niamh.

I just do not understand, how after the way that ALW has slated Ashley every week, that he could offer her a job!
How about all the others that have gone previously that he was raving over---just one example--Claire.
It does not make sense---unless he is feeling guilty---which is not fair on the others.
Gray--don't forget that the final choice is up to the public--not ALW --or the Judges---so even if Samantha is in the last 2, it does not mean she will go though, no matter what the judges think.
I have just spotted that Helena--who came 2nd to Connie in Maria, and who was saved in the sing-off by ALW several times, is the new leading lady, along with Dave Willetts in the new production of "South Pacific".

I saw the Saturday night edition but not the Sunday results show, but I'm not surprised Ashley went - she should have gone earlier. I'm sure that the Nancy they will eventually pick will be Rachel or Samantha, but Jodie is a possibility; she just has a Nancy kind of look, although she may arguably be a bit too old (Nancy is supposed to be 17?).

The only one who would probably get away with passing for 17 would be Niamh Jon, but ALW keeps on that he's afraid that she is perhaps too young to fill this role.
Being of suspicious mind I do however agree with Gray and think that the panel have a lot of weight and clout when it comes to the final choosing, public voting or no public voting.

Just seen this on 'Digital Spy', not sure how true it is...
The BBC will reportedly axe its series of musical reality shows after I'd Do Anything finishes.
With viewing figures down from the previous two series, which found stars for The Sound of Music and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, BBC bosses are allegedly looking to find another Saturday night show to stop Graham Norton leaving for ITV.
