Since my most disliked song of all time :x was sung last night, I thought I'd better praise one of the other singers and complain about the producers.

The producers clearly want David Cook to win. So they chose my most despised song of all time for him to sing ... a song that mainstream audiences seem to love. :? He sang it better than Aerosmith, but it was still terrible. Thankfully I was washing dishes at the time and couldn't hear well. Then the producers chose a tired old Dan Fogelberg song for David Archuleta and a penguin movie song for Syesha. Is that fair? Sure, Syesha needs to finally leave; she's a singer/actress, not a recording artist. Her other two songs were not good, especially her overdone interpretation If I Ain't Got You.

The absolutely amazing performance last night was David Archuleta on With You. Fantastic! This is a song that I've tried very hard to not like, because it's too similar to Beyonce's Irreplaceable and I don't care for Chris Brown's voice. But David brought something special to the song. Now I like the song and want to hear it on the radio. I thought it was perfect and one of the best performances this season. I also enjoyed his interpretation on And So It Goes (I don't like Billy Joel's original). Young David is a versatile singer and deserves to win. :)

David Cook just sang a glorious version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face on my TV.

It is hard to do anything new with this Roberta Flack song but he managed to do it.

I am beginning to root for David Cook over David A especially after hearing the young David's cover of Dan Fogelberg's Longer, a mushy song I dislike. Syesha's version of Peggy Lee's Fever was not too bad except for the lame cabaret act with a chair. If you must perform with a chair, you simply have to surpass Liza Minnelli's performance of Mein Herr in Cabaret. Otherwise, leave the chair out of the act.

Just caught up with AI.

David A's first song--although by Billy Joel, and I know and love a lot of his music-I have never heard that song--so I am not sure about it.

I think Jodie in the "Nancy" show sang the Alicia Keys song better than Syesha.

David C was brilliant with "First Time ever I saw your Face"--Just wish he could have sung the whole song--I would buy that !

I think all 3 contestants choices were weak.

Of the Producers choices--I do like the song "Longer" , but do not think that David A added anything to it. I liked David C singing the Diane Warren song.

Overall, I thought David C was best--although I still think David A will win
but David C could pull it off--a lot depends on the songs they sing.

I think Syesha is out of it-- to me she was totally forgettable---not like Brooke who was different and distinctive---Syesha is neither--and I think she will go.

Well, it went exactly as I thought it would--I think the 2 best singers are in the final.

I thought Fantasia looked and sounded just AWFUL !!!

You can look forward to a wonderful finale. :) David Archuleta sang so well. I was very happy for him. DialIdol.com is showing that David Cook will win, but I'm pleased that young David had three amazing vocal performances. He is blessed with a beautiful voice. I had tears and chills during two of his songs.

I have been out all night, and hoping to watch AI shortly--providing my satellite dish is behaving-I have had problems all week with it.

But just before I went out, I looked at Teletext, and they gave the result !!!! How maddening is that ???

I will make no further comment--till tomorrow !

I enjoyed last night--although very surprised to see David A looking very nervous and tense---I know he is only 17 and it is a big occasion, but he has always seemed so confident up until now.

I loved him singing "Imagine" again--and I liked David C's first song.

David Archuleta's Imagine and Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me were both amazing. I really liked David Cook's The World I Know as it's one of my favourites. Didn't think much of the U2 song as it's been overdone through the years.

On the two hour results show, I didn't care for most of the performances. Perhaps Donna Summer was the best, but her voice is not as pleasing to the ears as in her heyday. I thought previous years' shows were much better.

Well, I have just finished watching the final---what a big surprise--not to me--I knew yesterday morning !

Perhaps it was just a little too long. My favourite bits were Brooke singing with Graham Nash--David A with One Republic --Jordin Sparkes song---although she did not look as pretty as last year--Donna Summer--and the winning song that David C sang.

Most irritating part was the Guru at the beginning--was he for real???--or just a joke ??

In the end David C was a good winner--but I felt a little sorry for David A, as he had been predicted to win from the start by so many--including me !!

I thought the final was too long drawn out, but it was nice seeing and hearing the last twelve again.
I had a feeling David Cook would win, but I really wanted David Archuleta. I couldn't believe David C won by 12 million votes!
Paula Abdul was really moved by George Michael wasn't she?
Two great finalists anyway, I'm sure they'll both do well.

Paula Abdul stands up to applaud often so I don't take her standing ovations too seriously. However all 3 judges stood up after George Michael sang. Was he so good or was it perhaps the message in the lyrics? I was moping the floor when he sang so I must have missed the emotional core of his performance.

I thought Donna Summer's new single was not catchy enough and for a singer of dance songs, she could not dance. But I love her powerful voice in ballads.
I am shocked she looked nothing like her new CD cover. That pic must have been airbrushed to perfection!

David Cook's The World I Know was so touching I knew he was going to win.
