3 Days and Counting

Post by Michele Monro » Thu Jan 05, 2012 2:30 pm

Mild panic attacks have gone out of the window, I'm now into full blown meltdown. did I say 4 boxes of books! well it is now 5 and they are not all books. I have had to shuffle a few things around but I suppose I am getting there, I can see an end in sight.

My gorgeous boy leaves for Warwick on Sunday and I know that after he goes I will be happy to leave too, the alternative is to spend the next 7 weeks waiting for him to come home again so have bag, or lots of them, will travel.

Every journey has a departure point, that moment when you leave the embrace of the familiar and venture towards the unknown. On land, the significance of a departure is often lost, weighed down by the draining effects of crowded airports, bustling coach stations and motorway traffic. With a departure at sea you have time to smell the roses, to breath in that heady scent of adventure and enjoy the majesty of the occasion. On transatlantic crossings, there is a point where the safety of the home port is further away than the destination ahead, it is the legendary point of no return, the dividing line between past and future. The voyage has begun.

As I leave the familiar behind, I am looking forward to a kinship with my fellow passengers, and hope on my next journey they are the familiar that I leave behind. This for me is a journey in many parts and I hope you will enjoying living the dream with me.
