RHYMING THE TIMING

Post by keithgood838 » Mon May 19, 2008 6:42 pm

THE MASTER CRAFTSMAN

In her Rare Monro c.d. notes,
and at risk of churls complaining she is biased,
our Michele's epithet is right;
Matt was indeed a 'master stylist',
to wit: some meistersinger insights.
Are many (any?) cabaret singers equipped
divertingly to depart the flow
and quip among their audience mid-song,
then seamlessly rejoin the tempo
while the orchestra plays along?
Matt stayed loyal to his natural vibrato,
developed lungs-like-bellows breath control,
and when flirting with hazardous rubato
held us in pleasurable suspense
while he, innately, sang
'on the edge' with the timing of a top sprinter
starting on 'the B of the Bang'!
