The Guard (Movie)

Post by karl » Mon Jan 16, 2012 5:42 pm

Has anyone see this film starring Don Cheadle, Brendan Gleeson & the excellent Mark Strong.

I watched it on the flight home from Australia and was trying hard not to laugh too much but I was shaking with laughter in my seat. It's about an Irish policeman (Garda) played by Brendan Gleeson who peppers his sentences with "feckin' but somehow when it's said in the Irish accent it sounds more funny than crude.

The dvd was released today and is on my wants list!

Years back the Irish Actor and Ranconteur Niall Toibin, had an hilarious stand-up tale about a CIA operative who could speak numerous Eire dialects.I will not give away the punch-line for those who have yet to hear the routine, but I'll wager Keith Good knows the one I mean.
