Colin Tarrant

Post by karl » Sun Jan 29, 2012 1:11 pm

I was shocked to read of the death of the fine actor Colin Tarrant who played Inspector Andrew Monro in "The Bill" , he was only 59 - from what I read it appears to be a suicide and yet he was appearing on stage in succesful plays.

Rest In Peace.

I did not recognise the name, although I used to watch "The Bill" often--but as soon as I saw his picture, I recognised him. Very sad news.

The Bill was one of the best things on the box, I used to record it if I was out of the country. The acting was such a high standard that you thought they were serving Police Officers.

I know Graham Cole (PC Tony Stamp) used to train with real Police Officers to make his role as authentic as he could and he was also an ambassador for the show in Australia.
