13. "A SEPARATION" - Best Foreign Language Film - Iran

With the Summer Olympics coming this year to London, our San Francisco Chronicle had a 2 page section
on where visitors should eat or stay during July 27-Aug 12, 2012. My son and his family are planning to go.....

This may belong on a separate thread; if so, I'll start a new topic.....

What is your favorite restaurant in or around London (that should cost under 30 pounds each person)??

Please start another "Bakers Dozen Game" if you wish..........Thanks for any input, Henry.

Can I come in with a quick one, which is topical just now---the other day was the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens--so who is you favourite Dickens Character--hoping we have not had this subject before. We can go back to your one later Henry, although I, personally, rarely eat in London, especially in that price range.

Henry I've eaten at Kettners a few times in London and it's very nice but not that cheap, however there are cheaper places in Oxford Street, there is also a nice Thai restaurant almost next to Ronnie Scotts club but I haven't been in London for a few years so it could be changed. I know Kettners had a re-fit a few years ago.

4 MY 2ND FAVOURITE --FAGIN---George knew all the words to his songs from Oliver, and often used to sing them--in a Fagin type voice--he was very good actually. !

Mariana, I loved Fagin also. Loved the Oliver movie also. Mark Lester and Jack Wild were ace and the same with Ron Moody at least that's who I thought played Fagin. I may be wrong as it's been ages since I've seen it.

It was indeed Ron Moody, who made a wonderful Fagin--not sure how many times I have seen that film--But I know it is lots.

Thanks Mariana, I was sure it was Ron Moody, but thought my memory might have been failing!! LOL Jack Wild was perfect for the Artful Dodger. Did you know that Mark Lester (Oliver)didn't sing? It was a girl named Kathe Green.

Yes, I did know that Mark Lester did not sing, and for me , he was the one weak link in a fabulous film.
