I was listening to this when I walked the dogs this morning--
A-B-C-D-E-G
I never learned to spell
at least not well.
1-2-3-4-5-6-7
I never learned to count
a great amount.
But my busy mind is burning
to use what learning I've got.
I won't waste any time,
I'll strike while the iron is hot.
This song seems incomplete without the opening verse.
Behold the way our fine feathered-friend
His virtue doth parade.
Thou knowest not, my dim-witted friend,
The picture thou hast made.
Thy vacant brow and thy tousled hair
Conceal thy good intent.

I love it too. I played for a sing-along last Saturday and many of the guests didn't know it. One of the older guests said it's like a Shakespeare sonnet, so a younger guest pulled it up on her iPhone and recited it to us.

I do not think this was entered before, but it is one of my favorite romantic ballads (& it's Italian!)
I've Got a Yearning to Caress You
One Thought Keeps Burning in My Soul
A Hungry Yearning to Possess You
It's Far Beyond Control
I Want Your Love For Now, Forever
I Want you Heart and Soul.....
Here is the verse of a song many of you will recognise.

When you declared your love.
And then you went away.
And now each night and day ...
I posted this reply last night, but it disappeared....so I'll try again.
Is it "Miss You"? Just a guess!
Here's my entry....Evening brings the close of day.
Skies of blue begin to grey.
Crimson hues are fading in the west.
Evening ever brings to me
Dreams of days that used to be,
Memories of those I love the best.....
