Just listened on Amazon to this--it does sound really nice---I found it on a double cd -- 46 tracks--called "The Capitol years"--only £4.89 including pp-sounds a bargain, and it is now on order.

I have not read any comments on Adele & her 6 Grammy Awards......
Also it seems that she is not talked about much on this forum. What gives?
I am not a big fan, but she does possess a vocal style of her own.
I was thankful that her vocal chord surgery was a success.

I mentioned Adele and her 6 Grammy awards briefly on another thresd-I think it was the quiz one.

You are right, she is not hugely popular on this forum-I love "Chasing Pavements", but apart from that, I am undecided!

Adelle? I love both her albums "19" and "21". Her song "Someone Like You" is ace!! I have both albums on vinyl as they sound more richer than the cds!

Mariana, let me know when you hear the whole song!! It's one of my faves from Glen Campbell. The lp where it's from is called "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" is really good and so is "Honey Come Back". That one also has a good song called "Where Do You Go"

Yes, we've talked about Adele on here before. I'm not a fan. Like Marian, I liked Chasing Pavements, but especially hate those piano ballads like Hometown Glory and Someone Like You. The latter is particularly awful when she attempts those high notes and fails badly. I see all her songs as third-rate Gabrielle songs. Gabrielle has a style all her own; Adele's is derivative.

I did think she looked beautiful and she sang Rolling in the Deep very well. I somewhat admire her as a person (certainly not the smoking) and performer, I just can't sit through most of her songs.

And why was Chris Brown given two performance slots at the Grammys and all they gave super-legends Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross was presenting awards? I thought Diana Ross looked beautiful. Love her and we want her to return to recordings and performances. She sang on Oprah's last season; she still has her voice, but she said no record companies are interested. Terrible!

Yes Eman, I will let you know. I listened to one of my old Glen Campbell cds last night, and I just loved the song called "Country Boy".

Sevie Wonder and Diana Ross are both great---and true legends--hope we see and hear more from them soon.

I always liked Country Boy (You've Got Your Feet in LA) too. But it seems to be forgotten in the US. I'm pleased that you are remembering it and like the song.

Paul, I can remember a time when Country Boy was played on our AM station back in 1975 and people would scoff at the song as it was uncool to like the "Rhinestone Cowboy". I didn't care though and I bought the lp no matter who saw me from my school. I'd say, well tough bananas to you if they'd try to take the mickey outta me!!
