MARCH 2012

Post by mariana44 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 3:27 pm

I have just been out with the dogs this afternoon--first time I have been out for about 5 days as I have had a throat virus--even missed my WI committee, and WI meeting which I rarely do, plus missed my weekly trip into Tunbridge Wells--but what has happened to the weather---it is FREEZING and REALLY WINDY. Last week it was like pring-I even managed to mow the Back Lawn--well half of it, anyway, as I was not feeling well. It is just crazy , no wonder there are so many people around with one virus or another.

And as a PS to my sisters saga with the vet---she went on Saturday to ask how much they charge for a prescription , so that she can get the dog's eye cream for £23.40 instead of the £50.00 they charge---and they charge over £16.00 for a prescription !! At least Jill is saving £10.00 which is something-but the vet is raking it in either way. She has been going to the same vet for many years, and has had 9 dogs that have been treated by them-heaven only knows how much she has spent, as several of her dogs have had quite serious problems.-If she could get to another vet, I am sure she would .

Marian, I've just been out too.
I bought a magazine from a local shop, got outside and dropped it. :x
I chased it but managed to retrieve it before the wind took it too far.
Wind or no wind though.....the air was blue. :x

I've been out buying a birthday card & present. I also had a look at scanner/printers as mine is acting up. Sainsbury's have two Epsom models on offer, the one I have is Hewlett Packard and the print quality is excellent.

Nice and mild again and bright.

I think we are getting your weather, and you are getting ours Karl !!

Have you tried looking at Amazon for a new scanner/printer--their prices are good, they have a good selection, usually free delivery, and easy to return if neccessary. Plus most items have reviews, so it gives an idea of how good--or bad the machine--or whatever is .

Yes I'm looking everywhere but I'm not in a hurry for one, I usually like to see them before buying.

My cat also works as a good thermometer--if she dives back indoors, it means the weather is going to be bad--but if she lingers outside, it usually ends up warm and sunny.

My cat is sleeping at the bottom of the hedge in the garden at this moment, so it looks (as thermometer cats go) it looks promising! :D

We are still at the back end of winter and March is known to be an odd month weather wise .............cold one day, springlike the next day .............that goes for April too

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area we are still having very little rain (less than 12 inches this winter) but more than average 70 degree days!
I hope some of you can visit here during the winter season in the near future.......
Hopefully when Michele disembarks her Princess Cruise Ship on May 13th our sunny weather will greet her!

Henry, today in San Diego it was overcast and cold and sprinkled a little. I'm hearing on the news that it's supposed to be in the high 70's tomorrow. California, gotta love it!!
