My son has one too Mark. It's a Play Station Portable. You can do all sorts with it as well as games, watch movies, surf the net etc. Great gadget.

Time for Steed and Mrs Emma Peel.
Boy, do I love The Avengers!

I picked up the colour episodes of 1967
on 8 DVDs and can't wait to watch Mrs Peel tussle with the ruffians again!

Any Emma Peel fans here?

I used to watch the tv series regularly, many moons ago now.
I believe I saw 'Return to Peyton Place' as a film. That was along time ago too.

I read the books "Peyton Place" and "Return to Peyton Place" and enjoyed them--but from the little I saw of the tv Series, and part of the film, I just thought there was no comparison----the books were miles better.

Ok, so no one is going crazy about Peyton Place the movie.
It's a film I've never seen but fancied tracking it down.
I don't remember the TV series or the the sequel!
Never knew about that. :)

We watched the TV series religiously in the Sixties, with Ryan O' Neil and Mia Farrow, and remember in particular the gorgeous Dr Rossi played by Ed Nelson. 8)

I've just finished reading a biog of Sinatra and Mia Farrow gets a BIG mention in it.
Peyton Place was mentioned in the book.

Did anyone see Can-Can with Frank Sinatra on Channel 4 yesterday?
I have never seen it before, but knew it was a big 70mm production, what a disapointment!
I liked the music, but what a flat, uninspired movie!

Can I ask anyone who watched films in the cinema in the 50's or 60's, if you knew the film was made in any widescreen process, Cinemascope, Cinerama, etc, did it make you want to go and see the film?
The studio's hoped it would pull you away from the TV, but can anyone remember going to see a movie on the strength of it's theatrical presentation?

Thank you! :)
