Henry you may as well say England, Scotland Ireland & Wales are not countries as they are all part of the UK.

Having been to Dubai recently I would say it's a country whether or not it's part of the Emirates.

Karl, I doubt if most of the Irish would consider IRELAND as part of the United Kingdom! (Especially on St Patrick's Day)--
Northern Ireland may be part of the U.K., but not the rest of Ireland...I thought this was settled after the Civil War!

2. AUSTRALIA (I think this is not part of the UK!)

Henry Northern Ireland is still part of the UK but the South (Eire) is not. But to reply to your number one, England is not all of the UK as Scotland, Wales ets all drive on the left. Americans have a habit of thinking that England is the UK. You would not believe the amount of stupid questions I've been asked over the years in the States, it makes me wonder sometimes if geography was ever taught there.

Infact on the West Coast of America we were told that peope travelling from other States to New Mexico asked if they needed a passport!!!!
