THE VOICE UK 2012
Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
These shows don't find the next music star anymore; they are simply entertainment and I love all of them. If they weren't on, I'd have nothing to watch. I even love the family in the back with "push the button". I'm sad when they don't make it through.
I love everything about music, and these shows help bring even more music to my life.

We're lucky here in the U.K. Paul. I think we have more selection of tv programmes to choose from.

Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
I usually love the reality shows [apart from Big Brother] especially the ones that involve music.
Maybe I thought " The Voice" would be different to how it was--and maybe it all grow on me.
My favourite ever shows of this type were the Andrew Lloyd Webber searches for a musical star-i could watch those forever.
And although he said he was not doing another programme, I believe he is doing a search for "Jesus Christ Superstar", so I am really looking forward to that.

I'm with you here Marian. I've always enjoyed the Andrew Lloyd Webber's Search for a Musical star, so much more controlled, and 99 per cent of those winners on these reality shows wouldnt be good enough for his shows !!!
Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
I didn't see The Voice, so may be I shouldn't be posting,
, but I am getting a little tired of these talent shows.
How I wish for a bit of variety, these shows are a bit like junk food, quickly devoured but no lasting goodness.
If it isn't singers, it is dancers, or skaters.
I mean, why can't we have more football on telly?
Anybody want to come round to mine this Saturday, and we will watch The Generation game, followed by The Two Ronnies then Parkinson?

Yes, we agree with you Gray, and there are still performers around today who could combine to make a decent variety show.
What we may not realise is, that some of those singers and comedians have other talents, but we haven't always had the opportunity to see how versatile they can be.
As far as football Gray, bring it on. There's talent to watch tonight.

No room for that in the schedules these days. The Voice, BGT, New You've Been Framed and Celebrity Wipeout for you. Thank goodness for Blu Ray.Gray wrote: Anybody want to come round to mine this Saturday, and we will watch The Generation game, followed by The Two Ronnies then Parkinson?
Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
I've changed my mind about The Voice, having given it a chance for a couple more weeks. I quite like it now. I like it that the judges have no idea what the contestants look like and have only the voice to judge them on.
I can see it getting more entertaining when the four have their chosen their groups, when we have got to know them better as individuals.

Well, I have to admit, I am with you on this Marian. I didn't see the first show, but watched it last week as there was nothing else on (as usual) and I quite enjoyed it too. So watched it last night as well.

Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
Now I am more used to it, I am liking it more--I will be interested to see how it goes after the auditions are over.

I am back to being totally bored this show.
It is all so serious--and the singers are all so serious--I know it is a big chance for them--but to me, not one stands out as singing music that i would buy---maybe Jazz is the nearest one.

Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
Fifteen minutes of this programme was enough for me, and to see Tom Jones, a performer of his status appearing in a show of this kind is baffling

Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
That ia what I think too-I honestly cannot stand Jessie J---who is she anyway--apart from having a couple of hit records--and why was her hair done like Minnie Mouse---I am not too keen on Will-i -am either--maybe the show would have worked better with a different panel, but apart from Tom Jones, none of the other judges seem to have any charisma--and even though there was nothing else on Tv last night, I managed to watch it all in about 20 minutes.
Same again tonight !

Re: THE VOICE UK 2012
Even the final tonight lacked excitement. I thought Vince was the best singer on the night, but he went first.
It was a surprise to see Leanne win, although she did have a strong voice--I had read several times that Bo was tipped to win, but i am really glad she did not, as she made every song sound the same. I think Tyler talked too much of his past friendship with Amy Winehouse.
The actual programme was way too long--way too many repeats, and flashbacks, even the medley with the jusges songs did not sound as good as I thought, mainly because I could onlky recognise 2 songs--and surprisingly, my favourite part of the medley was Jessie singing "It's not unusual" with Tom Jones.
Overall I think the whole series has been very disappointing--which I think could have been down to the choice of Judges.
