Richard's work has not been in vain. The 3 CD set to celebrate the Dame's 75th birthday has been approved by her and will be released after all. Bring out the champagne! :D

The news is that this 3 CD set will be released in June 2012.
Everything will be the same as originally intended with 2 CDs containing studio tracks and the 3rd CD a complete ‘live’ recording of the 1973 concert from the Royal Albert Hall. Unreleased and tracks new to CD are included and this will be a terrific set for fans.

No changes at all to the tracklist - one minor technical change but otherwise as it was before.

Just waiting on a confirmed release date now.

Nothing that changes the track listing Terrence, just a minor change to one track at Dame Shirley's request.

Patience is a virtue - It's still going throug legal clearance due to Capitol owned material. Once I (or Martyn who compiled the set) know a release date it ill be posted all over the place!

Is it true that Capitol has objected to the live CD and EMI Gold may eventually release a 2 CD set instead?

I don't know where you get your info Terrence, but yes this may be the case.

I don't know the details of Capitol's objection, but it may be to do with the fact that the shows were also filmed by the BBC, so there might be some restriction.

It's still undecided though.
