And what about Dean Martin?
And what about Dean Martin?
Along with Matt I've been a Dean Martin fan for decades. Indeed Matt did a very good impersonation of 'Dino' on his dvd! But Dean captured the coolness and class which only a few of the greats could ever portray. On one hand you could mention Matt, Mathis, Longthorne, Sinatra and Perry Como. Their voices and the songs they sang are still with us, and always will be, because class never dies. I am proud to be a Dino impersonator myself and also add some of Matt's most popular songs as a special dedication to the great man himself.
Dean Martin!
Thank you Marian for pointing that out! I can see from all your topics on the Forum that you are a Matt fanatic! Fantastic! I'm so glad to join you all. I sang 6 of Matt's songs in my last 'Dino' show and the response is always so worth while!
Jack Jones!
Now you're talking - Marian. Another great crooner. I saw him in Liverpool some years ago - brilliant! Am I glad I've joined a Forum which really appreciates the great singers of our time? Yes I am!!
Dino and Beverley Knight on FNIMN
The interval section of last Friday's Friday Night Is Music Night on Radio 2 is all about Dean Martin. I hope Bill gets a chance to listen to the programme, but he may be on the road.
The entire FNIMN programme is excellent as it features Beverley Knight, who does a sensational version of her biggest hit Shoulda Woulda Coulda. Just fabulous. I've listened to it twice already.
You have until Friday afternoon to listen to it.
This Friday's FNIMN will also be a must: a tribute to the 50th anniversary of West Side Story.

Thanks Paul jh
Many thanks Paul for the Dino details - I'll have a listen! Yes I've been busy of late and after just over 2 years of impersonating Dean Martin, the bookings are really beginning to come in! I'm singing in Essex this Saturday evening.
Trust all well with you - I do enjoy reading your comments and topics. More please!

Deana Martin, Dean's daughter was on 'Breakfast' this morning talking about the inevitable book she's written and her appearances as a singer.
Actually the clip of her singing her dad's Volare wasn't bad, she seems to have inherited his singing genes.
Apparently, mom was the hard drinker in her family, not dad.
Marian.

Deana Martin!
I missed her! I know she is in the UK performing at 2 Charity Shows! The Company producing the Show actually asked me if I could help with promoting it, and when I said "yes" they didn't reply! Strange world we live in! Hope all well with all you Forumites? I'm singing in Llanelli tomorrow and at a Wedding in Quorn (Leics) on Friday. Kind regards to all!
Dean Martin & Daughter!
Hi to you all!
I've just finished reading the Deana Martin book on her Dad - it's called Memories are made of This. It's a very good story highlighting what a different man he was off the stage to the entertainer everyone knew. I picked it up on ebay in paperback!
Miserable day today in South Wales, rain, and more rain! I was singing in my former home town of Deal the other week and both my son and daughter had magnificent sun-tans! They hadn't been on holiday, just living in the South-East does it!
Talk soon.
