WHO DARES SINGS.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:42 pm

Did anyone see this new show on Saturday evening ITV.
The studio audience are all challenged to sing and hit the right notes in a karaoke competition.
The winner can gamble his chance to win up to 50 thousand pounds
It's not quite STRICTLY..... but for a Saturday evening it's better than nothing

No, didn't see this Lena and Harry, in fact we had a bit of a karaoke night ourselves, or what we call, a "Squawking" night, our friend Annette came round and joined in and helped us murder a few songs.

Yes, I watched this programme--I quite enjoyed it--definately prefer it to "Don't forget the lyrics" with Shane Richie--and it is nice to join along. I like the fact that there is some competition, and it is not just one person.

I also like Denise and Ben as hosts. I cannot see anyone getting the top prize though--sounds quite difficult to me, to have a computer judge your voice !!!

I have a few favourites Lena and Harry, including Al's "I Have But One Heart" and Michael Hollidays "Story Of My Life". I am not saying that I am any good at them though, and I would never get up in front of a crowd of people at the pub etc.

We swithed over to see the last half an hour of" Who Dares Sings," and the Two finalists were both good singers.
Unfortunate for the girl who failed with the next song after gambling her Five Thousand Pounds.
The studio audience were in good voice and singing ....wait for it
Y.M.C.A. Not a hot favourite of Paul's.

Even more unfortunate--if she had sung the second song first, and the first song second--she would have won £25,000--as she scored 60, on "Walking in Memphis"--even though she was not really sure of it.

Yes, that's right Marian. It's trying to choose the songs in a short space of time.
We were surprised at some of the chosen emphasised notes on the songs which most average singers would get. :? so they are getting a fair chance.

We watched the show tonight and thought the guy in the final would go for the jackpot. He had a good voice, but he failed unfortunately.
Some good songs tonight though.

I saw the last part of the show and was impressed with the finalist's voice too. He sang well, and I was disappointed for him that he didn't win the 2nd part and lost his original £5,000 :? :?

Oh dear - now that 'Dr Who' has finished I may end up watching this! I do get up at Karaokes if I have had a few drinks, and love to sing 'Beyond the sea', which I have been told I do quite well
