What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
My Cup Runneth Over - Ed Ames (haven't played this for years, he has a good voice but a rather old fashioned style) However he holds the notes forever on this song.

Karl, I could never get into him cuz of the charachter he played in the old Fess Parker tv show "Daniel Boone". He played the Indian sidekick. I just couldn't get into him and would laugh when my folks played his lps. Us kids would say hey it's the guy from Daniel Boone and would be laughing that my folks would take the lp off and play something else. Granted the guy can sing!!

I like Ed Ames, one of my favourites. A brilliant voice, and still singing very well today. He started off singing with his 3 brothers, The Ames Brothers, and ventured on his own in the late fifties/early sixties.

You Were Only Fooling /Country Love Songs by Vic Damone, what a great voice! And he's singing It's Not Unusual, but he stops short of the "Woh Woh Woh's"!!! Probably didn't want to upstage Sir Tom

Vic Damone would have no problem upstaging Tom Jones, and a few more others too Karl.
Here's another one we are listening to right now... Tony Martin. Thank you John

Ah but Tom was great onstage, I first saw him with Kathy Kirby when I was 18 and he was fantastic - Kathy was great too.

I prefer the Ames Brothers songs over the Ed Ames solo records.
Eman: I'm excited you have Keane's Strangeland already. How is it? I loved the Perfect Symmetry album -- their best, and my #1 of the year it came out; I played it over and over again. In another forum, someone said the new album is not as good. Where did you buy yours? At your usual record store probably; you are so lucky to have that store. Best Buy has the basic album for $9.99 and the deluxe with four additional songs for $16.99 (doesn't seem fair to charge so much for four more songs). Which version do you have?

Paul I have the vinyl version which is the standard one. I paid $16.99 for the lp! I love it then again I never listen to what critics say. I also picked up Some Nights by Fun which has the hit We Are Young, plus two albums by folk singer Bon Iver. Bon Iver is really mellow and just basic chillax music and nice to play in the background while reading or taking a nap!! I think you'll love Keane's new album Paul!

I love your word "Chillax" music Eman, I haven't heard it before. It sounds much cooler than "Easy Lstening"!
