Thankfully this evening's show was the beginning of the competition, with Two choirs from this evenings Five chosen to go forward.
"Sense And Sound" were voted to go through, but The Brighton Gay Mens chorus was eliminated, but we were pleased to see that Ysgol Glanethwy were chosen to go through in the sing off. Dreemz were probably nervous, but were totally out of their depth attempting to sing "Over The Rainbow. "
The Alley Cats were good, but not so hot singing individually.
Apparently the show is being moved to Sundays starting next week.

A much better chance to see what the choirs could do tonight---I thought
Ysggol Glanethwy were the best---I also like AlleyCats--although I see them more as a "Group" than a "Choir".

Dreemz were not very good---their individual singing was, I thought, quite painful at times, and they ruined "Over the Rainbow". I must admit that I thought the judges were extremely kind in their comments to them.

I agree with the results tonight. Dreemz, especially the soloist, were awful.

Watched this programme again this week, to see if it had improved: it hadn't. My main gripe is that they are not choirs, more glorified pop groups. I'm all for a range of musical styles, but I guess if they were to sing proper choral repertoire, no-one would watch the programme.

I quite agree Jon--there are just a few that can really be called "choirs"--I guess it also depends on the music they sing--after all it is a Saturday night Prime-Time show--not everyone would appreciate choral music.

I'm still watching this programme, but it just doesn't seem to have become any better and I feel I am losing any interest I did have.
It will be interesting to see who wins, but I won't mind if I miss the journey to get there.

I suppose because most of them are quite large grpups of singers--being a choir---it is not easy to relate to a one individual. I did enjoy last night, but sometimes wonder at the choice of songs---"Spiderman" for instance !!!

I enjoyed this programme tonight more than last night, maybe I just wasn't in the mood. :?
Anyway, my choice went through tonight so I was pleased :D

I haven't got the same enthusiasm for this series either, it's not the participating choirs, but the judges who seem reluctant and hesitant to individually state an honest opinion, but at least the choir who undoubtedly should have got through last night, and was the best of all the Five choirs, got through tonight.
The public will be doing the voting soon, well we're really grateful for it this time .

I was quite surprised the Bath Male Voice choir went through last night, although they certainly have "the wall of sound" that Russell is always referring to! To me there wasn't much expression of emotion in their faces that the other two choirs had.
I loved the community choir, they showed real spirit I thought, and sang very well. You could see the other group wanted it so much too.
Anyway, may the best choir win. I believe it's up to the public vote from now on.

I quite enjoyed the show again last night. A nice choice of songs.
We'll have to see who the public put through tonight, but then it looks like the judges still have the final say.
It was interesting to hear the judge from Holby City, can't think of her name, repeat what I said last week about Bath Male Choir not showing enough emotion in their expressions. :x :? :o

It is beginning to sound like "Joseph" etc where ALW, chose between the last 2, until the very end.

I enjoyed last nights show--I have a clear favourite now, which is ACM ??
Gospel Choir--I just loved them singing "September"--which just happens to be one of my favourite Earth Wind and Fire songs--after "Boogie Wonderland". Again, not my previous idea of a choir--but basically only 2 of those left are what could be called a "Real" choir !

I think the one I liked least was "Sense of sound" basically because I did not like their song--but I also liked "Revelation" singing "Fields of Gold"---different to their previous performances.

Well done on your choice to go out Marian, and they did - Sense of Sound bit the dust. I didn't like their choice of song again tonight, it was more a solo with accompaniment I felt.
Really pleased all the others went through. I think I like Only Men Aloud and the Welsh Ysgol (school) Choir best, but I also like the Bath Male Choir. These are more what I think of as 'Choirs' I suppose.

The results tonight were as we expected them to be.
Since this competition began, choirs have taken on a whole new meaning it seems, :o :? because the The Bath Male Choir lack the energy and expression of the other's competing, it was no surprise that they were voted off, but we have to admit that tonight they weren't at their best vocally.
We think Ysgol Glanethwy and ACM will be in the final.
"Men Aloud" are fantastic but we wonder if being just a male group it could go against them when it comes to making the final choice.

I agree with you both as to the teams who will be in the final---"No men aloud" seem more like a large "boyband" than a choir. But I was not impressed with the song choices last night.
