Sorry to be so long thinking of a new one--this is a very well known song, but I have rarely heard the verse--but it came on when I was walking the dogs today--trying to dodge the showers!!

WHEN A GIRL MEETS A BOY
LIFE CAN BE A JOY
BUT THE NOTE THE END ON
CAN DEPEND ON
LIITLE PLEASURES THAT THEY SHARE-----

Hi Marian, I posted this one earlier and you guessed it correctly. No problem though :) It is difficult to keep finding verses. :)

I have a newly released boxed CD set of Bing Crosby....I am surprised how many songs he sang with verses.

Here's one I don't think we had before.......

IF I'VE NO WILL TO GO FROM HOME;
OR HAVE NO URGE THE SEAS TO ROAM;
OR TURN MY BACK TO A DISTANT STAR
AND NEVER BURN TO WANDER FAR;
IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF FEAR.
IT'S BECAUSE MY GOAL IS CLEAR.... (One of my favorite ballads from the 40s)

Here's a hint for the above verse - It was a hit for Buddy Clark (1948)

Tahat does not really help me, as I have never heard of Buddy Clark--is it quite a well known song--it is ringing no bells with me yet.

It was one of the last songs recorded by Julie Andrews before she had throat surgery. Lyrics-Alan Jay Lerner, Music-Kurt Weill.
Check out "You Tube" video titled "Julie Andrews-A Lifetime-Part 2"....This should give you the title of this beautiful song!

Wow-I thought this would have gone ages ago--it is such a well known song--maybe this verse is not heard so often. Sometimes sung as a duet--but I do not think it came from a film. I cannot think of a clue as such, so I will just give a few words that should help--

ON THE BUMPY ROAD TO LOVE.
