No it's not the easy listening chart, John. It's the official UK album chart. His album debuted at #33 on that chart yesterday. Very good showing.

Did anyone see the BBC4 doc on him about 6 months ago?
What a lovely fella.

Yes, I taped it Gray, plus there was a repeat of one of his shows featuring Nana Mouskouri on afterwards as well. 8)

Saw the album on sale in HMV Bond Street last week. Well done to Val. Mind you, I'm not clear about releases of "Greatest Hits"; there seem to be several per artist these days ansd I'm not sure what the point is when there's already one on the market. Different labels, I guess. A friend of mine who's a serious heavy rock fan thinks Val Doonican is great and describes "Walk Tall" as "pure gold".

Warm personality..........................that's probably because of those heavy cardigans L&H

Thank goodness for that--not much else on tonight--why are Saturday nights so abysmal these days.???

Even with Sky , the only thing I have on "copy" is a repeat of "American Princess"--and this is in the early hours of the morning --so I guess that does not count as Saturday night.

I think everyone is in agreement about Saturday night TV, Marian. It is the worst night of the week. Sunday isn't a whole lot better.
