Have been listening to Eric Hall's programme. Today it was Matt and Nat, meaning that all the songs were by Matt and Nat King Cole.
One of the best programmes we've heard for a long time from Eric.
Beautiful songs from both of these singers that can either lift you to the skies or bring a few tears or a lump to your throat. :) Well they did me anyway, :) specially Matt's "Over The Rainbow." :)

Wonderful programme Lena and Harry.
Nice to hear a few of the lesser played tracks such as my favourite Nat track 'That Sunday That Summer'.
But the winner was Matt.I had forgotten what a beautiful version of 'Over The Rainbow' he sang, also 'Autumn Leaves' and the up tempo 'As Long As I'm Singing' :D

P.S. to Harry- how goes the Olympics for you trying to work!

Sandra, it's a nightmare out there. Can't get anywhere. Main roads closed, and many open just for Olympic officials in spite of a mass protest by London Taxi drivers who have always had a reputation of giving a reliable service. The majority are like me, taking a rest. !!!!

Jill has been lucky so far--last week, she was getting home earlier than normal--which could be due to holidays, no school runs--plus she does not actually travel on any "Olympic roads"--she just has to cross 2.

But on saying that, she has taken this week off as holiday !

I heard they were closing London Bridge station tomorrow--something to do with Olympians and officials arriving--too bad if you just need to get in and do a days work !! Yes, it is possible to go from another station, but you can imagine how crowded they will all be with London Bridge out of action. Anyone who has not actually lived or worked in London will find it difficult to appreciate the difficulties all Londoners are going to be under in the next few weeks. And it is not just for the Olympics--it carries on until after the Paralympics.

I lived in London for 28 years, and worked in London for over 37 years.
