Also, if you do not own the new compact remastered 4 disc set the Singers Singer, I would advise you to buy it. Not only will you hear Matt singing a nice version of Bridge Over Troubled Water but you will hear quite a few tracks on there that you may not have heard Matt sing before ..........have you heard Matt's version of Fly Me to the Moon ? ..............it's worth paying the money for just that one track alone ..............plus Matt's solo version of the song More

Matt's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' is an absolutely excellent version of the song. It's one which has mainly passed me by, having it on a couple of albums I've just listened to it in the background as the discs have played. However, I gave it a full listen last night on my iPod as I was flicking through Matt tracks and I was amazed that I hadn't really honed in on it before -it's absolutely excellent!! Give it a listen

Knowing Matt's excellence he would have found a way to sing it and not strain. He wouldn't have done it Garfunkle style, I know. Well, I guess it's in my future to hear it. I don't own that singles compilation that it's on. I'll have to look into that, but I probably already have most of what's on there. If "Wish Now Was Then" is on that compilation, I'll probably get it. I want that song so bad! I watch the Youtube video a lot of Matt's "Wish Now Was Then", and it's one of my favorites of many many many Matt favorites!

I MUCH prefer Matt's "Fly Me to the Moon" to Sinatra's, yes. I've heard it several times on Youtube. Oh, Robert, I have Maria on "Matt at the Movies", but I thought his live performance on Matt Sings Monro on BBC was greater! Maybe there's more than one audio recording, that could be. I really want this song, "Wish Now Was Then", I wonder if that's on "The Singer's Singer" compilation. I might have to get it from Amazon UK, it's ridiculous how much less is on Amazon US of Matt's. Thanks John! Karl told me the same thing, I need to check that list. I've already seen that I have everything onThe Singer's Singer set except Bridge and a few others on the 4th CD. I'll check the Singles list. Thank you so much for telling me "Wish Now Was Then" is on it. Matt and Don sure made beautiful music and lyrics together, time and again. I never knew thee was a "Matt Sings Don Black", but of course there SHOULD be! Thanks!

Many of the rare songs on the 4th Disc of Singer's Singer are not available anywhere else either! And Complete singles contains a large number of song that were only ever issued on the original singles.

I am also working on Lindy prompting her to buy the Singles set, it's worth the price just to hear Matt sing "By Her Side" if that performance doesn't move you - nothing will ! I can't believe I never heard such a great song before, far too good to be tucked away on a b side originally.
