Meatloaf Live lp

Post by Eman » Sun Aug 05, 2012 3:39 am

Hey this one is for Robert our resident Meatloaf fan!
I was at the record store today and picked up a UK copy of Meatloaf Live as it was still a buck and in mint condition with the shrinkwrap. It also came with a 12inch single called "Masculine" b/w "Rock "N" Roll Medley". The sticker on the album also said it. Yet Robert, if you have this lp, why does the label say the name of the album is "Masculine" and the jacket says "Meatloaf Live" over all the songs were the same. I was shocked it was on Arista and not on CBS. Was there a time he switched labels. I've always loved when he performed "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" live and also "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad".

A record often appears on a different label between the US and the UK.

Arista was the label Meat Loaf signed to in the 80's after leaving Epic.............Arista is I think a sub division of CBS.

Masculine was not the title of a Meat Loaf album, Masculine was a single taken from the Blind Before I Stop album.

I think you bought a best of compilation with a free Masculine 12 inch single.

Was this the record you bought Eman ? :)

Robert,
That's it!! I looked at the lp closely and it's a German pressing. I know that Meatloaf had a "Live in Wembley" lp in the UK, but maybe this one is the German abridged version? Still as long as it has the 3 songs I like from Bat Out Of Hell, I'm good with it!
