Girls Aloud were guests on Jo Whiley live lounge tour a couple weeks ago (sans Nadine who ill was in LA with shingles). Jo asked Cheryl about Dannii and she said she hasn't gotten to know her very well yet.

I love the new Girls Aloud song, The Promise. Radio 2 is playing it. I never cared much for Girls Aloud, but I liked their last song, Can't Speak French, as well.

Just found this report on recent news items..

WENN world entertainment news - Tuesday, October 7 08:10 am

Irish pop svengali Louis Walsh predicts Sharon Osbourne will return to reality TV show The X Factor - because Dannii Minogue is set for the axe.

Rock matriarch Osbourne quit the show earlier this year following a series of rows with co-hosts Simon Cowell and Dannii Minogue.

But Walsh believes she will make a comeback alongside himself, Cowell and new recruit Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole - as a replacement for former singer Minogue.

He says, "Obviously Dannii would be the one to go - having Sharon and Cheryl Cole on the show together is too good an opportunity to miss."

That is true--although he was only gone for a short while as I recollect.

I have just read that Sharon may be coming in as a guest judge--we shall see.

I think last night that nerves got to them all--and I did not care much for most of the song choices.

Strangely enough on Xtra factor, Sinitta had said how funny it would be if both girl bands were in the sing off. To me, it would not have mattered which one went, as they both seemed so similar--although on the x-factor forum "Girlband" was the act most hotly tipped to go.

I read in one of this morning's supplements that it is Louis who causes Dannii most grief by making nasty remarks, and not Cheryl :?

I was quite pleased it was the two girl groups with the lowest marks last night, and I agree with Marian that I didn't really care which one went, as they were so similar. I didn't particularly like either one.

In agreement with you both, Marian and Marian, there wasn't much to choose between the two.

Dopey Mr Perfect Louis Walsh laid in to Simon Cowell about the song that he'd picked for Scott and started the rest of them off. It's so entertaining isn't it.
The craziest choice of all was the one they picked for Rachel. She's crazy enough as it is.

Enjoyed the show last night, there were some good performances, I agreed with the choice to go. So now, Louis only has one act left.
Wasn't keen on the Girls Aloud performance though.

I was actually surprised that the Michael Jackson songs sounded so good when sung by others--I think that Girlband were destined to go. I still cannot pick a winner.

I actually quite liked Girls Aloud new song and thought it was quite catchy.

Wasn't Sharon left with only 1 girl early in the show last year, as I recall.

Have to say I never really watch programmes like "The X Factor" but I did see the first few minutes, including the Girls Aloud performance. It's interesting that Chery Cole is judging other performers when she clearly can''t sing herself! On that performace at least, Sarah (the blonde one?) seemed to have the best voice. I guess it was commendable of them, though, to perform live rather than lip-synch to a recording, which is what groups usually do when they are trying to plug a new track to get the best possible record sales. But I guess Cheryl is similar to Victoria Beckham - a weak link hiding behind stronger performers in the group.

This year there are some very strong performers-high standard indeed.
Hope to be in the audience later.

Did anyone see the Peter Kay spoof programme? I taped it, so didn't have to watch it in one go, which must have been quite a feat of endurance.
Anyway, I see his, or rather Geraldine's, winning song has entered the charts, ahead of Leon's, at number 2.
