Gray, Fopp is a store that sells many items cheaper, they are not second hand however sometimes you have to watch as they can be really cheap for some things and not for others.

A few years ago they were taken over by HMV but it hasn't affected their prices.

It's a good place to have a browse and they also have a good selection of vinyl.

I think " Fopp" may be exclusive to Scotland-I have certainly never seen one during my travels through England, nor even heard of it before it was mentioned on the Forum.

Hmm, I see, Karl.
Fopp are a new one on me, though I am intrigued now as any record store selling vinyl goes up in my estimation.

Marian, I'm with you, never heard of them - but I now hope to come across them on my travels!

I don't think Fopp is exclusive to Scotland Marian but they did close a lot of the smaller one's and just kept to major cities, we did have two branches but the other one closed some years ago.
Just remembered, there is a branch in Manchester.

There is nothing in the movie that isn't in the trailer...and don't you just HATE it when that happens!

Karl, never heard of Fopp...just googled them, they have a very basic website, I take it they are a store that deals in 2nd hand cd's/music etc?

PS 3 quid on 'The Possession' is still daylight robbery :)
Gray,
Thanks for the update. Then I won't even bother renting the dvd when it comes out. Do you know it only lasted one week at our local cinema? I guess that was a clue that as scary as the trailer looked, it had mega flop written all over it. It looked scary though, so honestly I was debating.

Well, the trailer worked on my friend as well who arranged the night out, so you aren't on your own, Eman.
I guess that is the power of advertising!

But, honestly, all the best bits were in the trailer and that, coupled with a story rehashed from The Exorcist, meant it really has nothing new to offer.

Has anyone noticed that Tippi Hedren has been in the Uk recently talking about her time working with Alfred Hitchcock.
I would of loved to of asked her for her memories of Matt, too.

Gray, yeah and now that you've reviewed it, I'll trust your instinct and stay far away from it. LOL

Oh yeah gonna watch "Safe" starring Jason Statham tonight on blu-ray which I picked up yesterday. I dunno something about a mindless action movie has an appeal to me.

Me too, Eman!
The Sweeney has opened over here and I would love to watch it.
Gentle, compassionate and moving it most certainly is not! :)
But after a hard week at work, sometimes switching off in front of an action film can be good therapy :)

Gray,
Most definitely. It's good to watch and get the weeks worth of agro out by watching a mindless action film.. Ha ha, sometimes I imagine it's me doing the blowing up and beating up in the film...ha ha...not normal I suppose but good therapy!!

Gray,
"Safe" was good. A typical Jason Statham vehicle. Kinda like VanDamme's "Lionheart" but amped up on adrenaline and has more b**ls. It's good if you have an hour and a half to blow and one to watch when there isn't anything on the telly. Yet for me tonight is must see tv... the second episode of the new series of Doctor Who!!! Also can't wait until "Downton Abbey" returns on the 16th.

Thanks for the review, Eman!
Hope you enjoyed Dr Who - I was at a friends wedding yesterday so didn't get to see the 2nd episode.

Gray,
Don't worry, it wasn't one of the better ones. Kinda a little far out but out of ten stars i'd give it a 6. I was watching a old David Niven movie from 1968 that I got from Amazon called "The Impossible Years". Though the time period is different the whole vibe of the "Generation Gap" is timeless. It was a tad corny but over all quite enjoyable.

Yes Gray, as Eman says it was a little far out, but aren't they all! Dinosaurs on a space ship, Queen Nefertiti of Egypt and someone who looked like Indiana Jones. I think it looks like The Doctor has a new partner for his adventures - Queen Nefertiti!
I'm sorry to see Amy Pond go.

Marian, I didn't know you watched the show? Yeah it's gonna be sad to see Amy Pond go after episode 5, and then later on Rory. I'm hearing things that she may become part weeping angel or something strange like that.
