special days in October

Seeing that we are such a close knit family, I thought it would be nice if you let us know the dates in the year that are special to you.

Thank you very much Marian, John, Marian, Sandra and John and Eman for your kind Birthday wishes, cards and gifts. All really appreciated.
Had a quiet, but nice day at home today, but had a meal out with my cousin yesterday at Old Windsor Bucks, even though it included a visit to the cemetary visiting and laying flowers on Four of my relatives graves.
We are celebrating with 16 of the family on Saturday though. Looking forward to that.
My niece said that my present is solved. She is giving me a 78 record.

Lena, my Mom's bday is on Sunday! She's going to be 79 and my nieces and nephews want to give her an ipod, of course I'll pay for the bulk again, and fill it with her faves like Matt, Barbra etc. Yet I can't picture her using an Ipod.

Eman, I'll bet your mom is going to be spoiled rotten on her Birthday on Sunday and perhaps if she can get used to an Ipod,.. what a lovely gift it would be for her
We hope she has a really lovely day.
October seems to be a popular month for Birthdays. :)

Thank you for your greetings Sir Robert.

Marian, yes it was Crimp Hill we visited. My cousin has just has a stone put in for her husband and she wanted us to see it. My other cousin who is buried there is alongside her husband and Aunt, so we laid flowers on each.
I seemed to remember you saying that your Mum is buried there, and I actually mentioned this while we were there, but didn't know your Mums name, but it is a very nice cared for cemetary.

Eman, I am sure your mother will love her Ipod==I do mine. I was at the hospital a week or so back, for an eye test, and was listening to my ipod, when I was called in--so I missed my call, and had to be called in again---when I got into the doctor's room, i apolgised, and said I had neen listening to my music--and he smiled at me and said--that's Ok--Music is better than Doctors !!!

Eman--glad to hear she has the docking station--saves wearing headphones all the time !!!! You can listen to music all day, with no boring chat--and always know that you will get your own music !

I just know she will be delighted.

Lena & Harry--I have a Kindle and love it--they are qute affordable-under £60.00 can get you one now, and there are many free books, or 99p books available. It is so easy to read, and you can easily enlarge the size of your font--plus you can get thousands of books on 1 Kindle--it will automatically keep your place for you, even if you are reading half a dozen books, you can easily look up any word you do not know the meaning of-plus you can get a "sample" of most books--a couple of chapters, to read before you buy---my Kindle has transformed my reading habits. ! And it is very easy to use. Put one on your Christmas Present list !!!

I would love an Ipad or Tablet---and I am confident that I could learn how to use it---but I do not think I would use it often enough to justify the price. I only use my Mobile phone for emergencies, and the odd text. !

Thanks for that information Marian, and it's nice that a kindle has proved to be so beneficial for you, and thousands of others no doubt.
I have mastered texting ok  so will decide now what will benefit me the most. I do need an upgrade on my phone, as long as I don't get whelded to it like everyone seems to be in this technology world.

Lena and Mariana, My Mom and Dad, use my Ipad more that I do!! LOL. They have mastered it and know how to do more things on it than I do. Although they haven't gotten the knack of my Imac computer, they are dangerous enough to do stuff like search the net, write emails, etc. . My Mom is the dangerous one because she's always looking for recipes and stuff ha ha sometimes I can't use my computer. I think they want to learn "facetime" or "skype" so they can do computer to computer calls and see their relatives while the talk.

Eman your parents sound really adventurous--I am a bit like that and will try anything---the only trouble is, if anything goes wrong, I have to find out how to fix it myself--but I usually find a solution !

My new phone that I bought last year is brilliant-it only cost me £25.00.--it is a Samsung, but it is so easy to use--10 times easier than my old phone, but does a load more-camera, internet, music, alarms, reminders---plus a really easy clear display--I just top up as i need to, as I only use it for emergency calls.
