ALFIE BOE TOUR

Post by karl » Tue Oct 30, 2012 4:59 pm

I booked for Alfie today, he is not appearing until March 25 and he's almost sold out all that's left is the balcony - good for Alfie as it's a big theatre.

I hope you enjoy the show Karl, I must admit I was a little disappointed. :(
I've just pre-ordered his latest CD The Storyteller from Sainsburys as it has two bonus tracks from his Texas concert and only costs £6.99. :D
I cancelled my pre-order from Amazon where it still is £8.99 and without the extra tracks. The cost may probably drop by release on 12th November though. :)

In what way were you disappointed Marian? I still don't have his dvd as I am waiting until the price drops, they always do eventually

I was hoping there would be more opera/classical than there was, which was not a lot!
I'm not a fan of his 'other' voice and his appeal to the pop/young crowd. To me, Alfie mean opera or West End theatre, but his show leans more to his younger fans. I don't blame him as maybe that where his future lies, but this is was why I was disappointed.
I hope you have booked for Jack's tour Karl, he never disappoints, and it looks like it is his last tour in the U.K. :D

I was at the Usher Hall last week Marian but no tickets onsale yet, I will keep checking as I do not want to miss him, it's been years since I last saw Jack onstage.

I know what you mean about Alfie singing Classical, that's where his roots are so he should perform a well balanced act. I actually prefer his classical cd's to the later releases although I must admit the new cd sounds good on the clips I heard.

Just ordered the cd from Sainsburys Marian, Yestereay I received an email from Univeral Music they have a special edition in a box which includes a badge and boolkmark but the price is £35 - they did the same with Dusty's box set last year offered a special edition including a canvas print but it was about £30 more than the regular price which was expensive anyway!

By the way, talking of JJ do you know there are two cd's being released soon including two albums each. Label is Zone Records owned by Paul Howes of The Dusty Springfield Bulletin, Paul's products are excellent, they should have been released in October but there is a delay, I understand all is well now.

There won't be any mention of it until nearer the release Marian, I will give you more information when I hear from Paul again. I do know the material is from Jack's Kapp/London years.

I have already booked for five concerts, and with accommodation too, I couldn't afford it Karl. I expect most of the people in the front row will know me anyway, so you can cheer along with them!

I think what Marian means is 5 is enough financially---with the cost of tickets, travel, hotels, food etc---quite a large outlay !!

I've been on concert tours in Uk, and I could have gone to US at least 3 times for the money I spent--but it was worth every penny.
