Re: THOUGHTS FOR TERENCE
Sorry for not logging in regularly but I have been sick with worry & anxiety. My excised ulcer was diagnosed as Diffuse B-Cell Lymphoma which is an aggressive type. An oncologist has recommended chemo but I have chosen alternative medicine in the form of herbal therapy from Cancer Care, run by a retired Professor of Botany. He has managed to help cancer patients for the last 16 years.

I was recovering well after surgery and already putting on some weight when a doctor pal read my pathology report online and asked me to consult an oncologist ASAP. That's when I heard the bad news. I called up the surgeon who operated on me but he insists the margins of the excised ulcer are clear as well as the surrounding lymph nodes.
The worst times are early in the morning after waking up and I realize it is not a bad dream. I am trying to snap out of the depression, worry and anxiety. I don't even have the mood to listen to music anymore but I did force myself to play the new Barbra CD which a friend brought back for me from Boston. Needless to say, none of the songs registered in my mind.
Since my friends on this forum are so kind as to start a thread for me, I just want to update you on what's happening in my life. Prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: THOUGHTS FOR TERENCE
Some of us are keeping up with your latest news on Facebook Terence, and we can understand how worried and anxious you must be.
I'm sure the surgeon who did the operation will have the best insight into how the surrounding margins and lymph nodes are, and he said the area is clear.
It is also a good sign that you were putting on weight after the operation.
All this is positive, and the herbal therapy maybe will help too, at least will do no harm.
You are in our thoughts and prayers Terence, keep up the positive attitude that you are on the road to recovery, and although it might be slightly longer that you hoped, it will prove to be the right road.

Thank you so much for the encouragement Marian & Eman.
Re: THOUGHTS FOR TERENCE
Terence, please stay positive - I realise it's hard and you have gone off your music but music is also great therapy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you even if we are on opposite sides of the world.
You be well, that's an order!!! :

Re: THOUGHTS FOR TERENCE
Terence, we have been keeping up with your health news and we agree with Marian. The surgeon is the qualified one and has reassured you of his findings.
Try and stay positive. We are thinking of you, and hope you will soon be back to complete good health.

Re: THOUGHTS FOR TERENCE
Hope is a bird of cheerful song
that perches in the soul - Emily Dickinson
Terence, how often have we succumbed
to old worry's perverse pain
only to find the time and effort
have been expended in vain?
Conclude the unwelcome diagnosis
may be misconstruedly wrong,
and your surgeon's words are the sweet bird
of hope's full-throated song.

Thanks Keith for the poem!

Terence
I'm really sorry to learn that you're so down about your situation, but please try and stay positive; as the others have said, the surgeon's assessment sounds like a reassuring one, but obviously it's understandable that you will be worried. Strangely, I usuallly don't feel like listening to music when I'm down either; it's when I'm feeling good that I put something on. But maybe there is a piece of music that could make you forgot yourself and the situation you're in, perhaps a Matt track, perhaps something else. Certainly all our thoughts are with you.

Has anyone heard any word from Terence recently? I know Marian sometimes read his posts on Twitter.
