SPECIAL DAYS IN NOVEMBER

I just heard that a priest friend of mine in Iowa has lost his mom. Irene was a lovely lady and I stayed with her and her late husband Phil the first time I visited - she had lost a leg years ago due to a surgeons negligence but she coped so well - she and Phil used to have us in fits of laughter they really were a great couple.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) would have been my aunt's birthday so she will be in my thoughts too, not that it takes her birthday for me to remember.

Irene's funeral is today Marian and Tony is saying the mass, he told me he spent a day getting his thoughts together

Phill & Irene were such good people and welcomed us into their home - we spent a few days with them years ago. Tony has such a unique way with words I am sure the service will be beautiful.

Thinking of you Karl. Sadly it can be a cruel world, regardless of how good and kind people have been. For some of us there are many things that happen in life that fortunately we are able to avoid, but not the inevitable farewell. Although, my spirits have suddenly been lifted. Imagine what a blow this must be for Millionaires. That's about the only event that I can think of when I've no need to envy them.
