SPECIAL DAYS IN DECEMBER.

Seeing that we are such a close knit family, I thought it would be nice if you let us know the dates in the year that are special to you.

Thanks Eman. Waiting on a unknown rich relative mentioning me in their will so I can come over to San Diego. We have an American friend married to a Royal Naval submariner, so we celebrated Thanksgiving last week. You must have a sweet tooth for that type of food.

Thanks Karl---Jill is like me , and normally copes well--but apart from that she had a very stressful day today--lots of things went wrong, and did not get sorted till about 6.00-but hopefully she had a quiet evening and was able to relax. I know her 2 sisters in law were round there today.

Mariana, hope all is well with your sister Jill. I am sure just like you she's a very strong woman. In the mean time give her a virtual hug from one Westlife/Cassidy fan to another. Oh yes I did get the farewell tour dvd. I couldn't believe my Mom and Dad gave me an early present to tide me over. Hmmm I guess Mom reciprocated because I gave her the "new Downtown Abbey dvd" so she already watched it before it aired in Jan over here.

Rob, if you do come over we should have lunch. . I'm all Thanksgiving out, but get to do it again on Christmas Eve and Day!!

Eamon - "Downtown" Abbey, is that the one starrring Petula Clark?

I know it's an easy mistake as I always want to call it that, you'd think the writers would have realised that too and retitled it!!!! They are probably too young to remember Pet's hit.

Denton Abbey might have been more appropriate!

Yes Karl "Downtown Abbey" with Petula Clark playing Maggie Smith's Role and Morrisey playing Hugh Bonniville's. LOL!!!!

Yeah easy mistake as they are so close!!

My Uncle Wright is 90 years old today. He has done so well since Aunt Edith passed 4 years ago, he's very bad on his legs but never grumbles, always has a smile on his face. Happy Birthday Uncle Wright. :D

Happy Birthday Uncle Wright! :D
I almost feel like I know him as John keeps us up to date with all his news and what he cooks to take him when he visits.
He's obviously a much loved uncle, and we wish him a wonderful birthday.

Happy Birthday Uncle Wright.

I visited my old friend Peggy on Friday 93 years old, I have known her for many years, she isi Frank Sinatra's biggest fan.
As the weather had been so frosty she hadn't been out all week so I tookk her shopping for Christmas cards etc, every time I see her she looks more frail then ever and she's a tiny thing too but she's still very active and has a great social life.

I hope Uncle Wright has a great day--he is doing so well. Have you made him a nice cake, John ?

And good luck to Peggy--hope she has a good Christmas-she is lucky to have a good friend like you, Karl to help her out.

Thanks for your kind wishes Karl and Marian. :)
No Marian, we saw him a few weeks ago though and he was well. We don't generally go this time of year, because they tend to get a lot of snow and ice in the Peak District. He and my Aunt always used to tell me not to come over December/early January because they always worried about me driving back to Blackpool at night. It isn't that far, about 70 miles each way but the roads can be treacherous.
I speak to him on the phone every week or so and phoned him this morning. He is actually going out this afternoon, his friend's son is coming to pick him up and take him to see his friend, who must be in his mid 80's. Uncle Wright very very rarely goes out, so this will be nice for him. He struggles getting in and out of the car so he prefers to stay at home.
