Margaret Whiting's CD The Great Hits tonight, songs re-recorded in stereo in the late fifties :) ................but slightly miffed that one of my favourites My Own True Love was not one of those songs :|
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,

Playing Matt's Rarer Monro again this morning.
I gave Three of my cousins one each in their Christmas gifts and they all loved it. :) :)
Anyway the sad news is that Eric Hall has been axed from his Sunday show after all these years.
Eric is one of Matt's staunchest fans and has played Matt's music regularly over these years, in fact last Sundays programme was titled Matt and Nat. Matt and Nat King Cole of course, and today is Eric's last programme.
I've given my views to BBC Essex and said how disappointed we are at this decision but whether it will make any difference who knows, but we have had a lot of pleasure from this programme. That's Life. !!!

Well done Lena and Harry.

I hope that he makes a comeback due to the pressure of his listeners.
We will miss the programme immensely.
Our favourite 'listen again' programme on a Monday morning

Just listened to a FABULOUS programme on Radio 2.John Humphreys on jazz.
Best programme ever.He interviewed the wonderful pianist JAMES PEARSON who is now artisitc director at Ronnie Scotts.he also played Matts ONE MORNING IN MAY-FANTASTIC STUFF!

Very sad about Eric Hall's programme. He has had some great guests over the years and always plays excellent music, his show will be missed. Lets hope his show will make a comeback in the near future.

Well apart from our message to BBC Essex and others that were similar, Eric said on his programme today that it wasn't BBC Essex who axed his programme, it is due to cut backs. Well who the hell was it then, we're taking a guess at Mickey Mouse

We are listening to Nick's Memory Lane programme.( nickthebottlewasher). He plays a Three hour mix of fabulous music from those great eras and many of these get you guessing as to who the singers are.
He likes the listeners e-mailing or texting him and gives everyone a mention.
He has played Matt's "We're Gonna Change The World " for us, and for another hoagy Carmichael fan " I Get Along Without You Very Well "
He is playing Tommy Steele now.. "Our Family Tree" from The Duke Wore Jeans.

We have just 'listened again' to the last Eric Hall show- what a tragedy.

Lena and Harry is their a 'listen again' feature to Nick's Memory Lane show?

On Radio 2 at the moment the X Factor winners song by James Arthur-words fail me-yuk yuk yuk :( :(

Sandra, I have just mady me comment on James Arthur on the X factor thread--I still do not know how he won--or even got into the top ten, etc etc--I thought it was painful to listen to.

Happy New Year Terrence, do you have the tradition of eating 12 grapes at midnight? Us Filipinos do that, but I look at it as good fun!
