TV OVER CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR

Post by mariana44 » Wed Jan 02, 2013 11:00 am

I think that basically the tv over this period has been as usual--pretty awful--one or 2 good progammes as mentioned elsewhere--plus I never tire of Morecombe and Wise--but the funniest programme that I caught up with last night-and I am sure that I have never seen it before, was "An Audience with Ken Dodd"--2 hours of just Ken Dodd---it was really funny !!

If I watched Ken Dodd for two hours I'd be a basket case!!!!! Two minutes would be enough.

No Angela but I really want to see it, they must have extended the run as i thought it ended in March? I am thinking of travelling down to see it.

Marian(a) I'm not sure if I replied in the correct thread as I can no longer find it. L&H were complaining about a comedian being offensive to the Queen, Susan Boyle, Barak Obama and others on a quiz show. I have since read they appeared on the show drunk which is a disgrace in itself.Jack Whitehall (I think is his name) has shot himself in the foot as he was due to host an awards show - he is now going to be asked to bow out gracefully.

Jack Whitehall is one of the regular panelists on Sky's A League of Their Own

While there were some entertaining items across the channels, a self-made compilation of Harry Enfields "I saw you coming" faux-antique shop sketches did it for me...

Great memories of Ken Dodd who lived near my fathers family home in Liverpool. He used to be a regular visitor to the house in the 70's. He once was asked by our next door neighbours company to speak at their annual dinner and told jokes for four hours! Sadly worked over the festive period and everything is still on the sky+HD planner.
