GORDON MACRAE NEW CD

Post by karl » Mon Jan 07, 2013 5:46 pm

Jasmine Records emailed me their new releases and the Gordon Macrae 2 cd set looks interesting The Hits Sound Of Gordon Macrae - Once On A Windy Hill.

I don't have any of his records but I like the few I've heard especially with Jo Stafford, I liked Star Of Hope which I knew by The Springfields.

I checked out this track listing--and it started off fine--then included some religious songs, before going onto Christmas-a strange selection---I think I would really enjoy the first half of the cd,

Marian(a) I checked the track listing again, it isn't so strange - there are a few religious songs near the end but it's what he did he recorded a wide selection of music.

i just thought it was a strange mixture--and to have Winter Wondeland on the end seems odd--not that I am against these songs-they would be better on a different album, that is all.

We both like Gordon McRae, have a few of his CDs, but one of them religious songs with 20 tracks duetting with Jo Stafford titled "The Old Rugged Cross" a bit dreary_, played it once I think.

Marian(a) are you sure you are looking at the right cd? I just checked and there is no Winter Wonderland, you can't miss it as it has a Jasmine logo right on the front sleeve, Amazon lists the tracks.

Sorry Karl--my mistake--it was Sleigh Ride--I often confuse the two.
