Just remembered the scene where the start of the Eastenders theme was played and the son was dressed like the tenor from the Go Compare commercial and he was on the drums - a very quick scene but SO funny!

I caught up with this earlier today, comfirmed my previous opinion.

This show is so NOT funny--i could not even raise a smile !!

There must be someone else on this forum who agrees with me !

Marian myself and some of my family agree that sometimes they go too far, but last week's was absolutely hilarious and I am not a person who laughs at anything, I watched it again the following day and laughed all over again.

However we can't all like the same thing, I don't like Ken Dodd & Tommy Cooper.

I agree with you Karl, there have been occasions when I feel they have overstepped the mark, but it's everyones casual innocence on this show, like Winnie and Buster for instance that makes me laugh. Everything they say is accepted and swearing between them doesn't raise an eyebrow. On very few rare occasions I've watched some of todays stand up comedians, I think I've got a fair understanding of the English language, but most of the time I'm left baffled and wondering what they have said that has made the audience laugh, but not feeling unduly perturbed that I'm losing my sense of humour because no matter how many times I watch Ken Dodds shows or videos I still fall about laughing. :D :D :D
Not so much Tommy Cooper though.

I tried watching Mrs Brown's Boys at the beginning and didn't find it funny either Marian. Wondering if I should gone back and given it another go as it is so popular now, but I don't think I will.
I enjoy both Ken Dodd and Tommy Cooper.

I often think we laugh more depending on our state of mind, as I said before I often smile at things but not really laugh but last week's episode had me laughing out loud.

I remember back in 1987 when my dad passed away so suddenly in April - I was already booked for America that August, whilst there I saw a film on tv about a father and son which really tugged at the heartstrings. We later went to the "movies" to see Inner Space with Dennis Quaid, I must have really needed to laugh and let my emotions out as I laughed so much I thought I was going to be sick and I was surprised at myself. I was glad when it ended as I was exhausted!!!

On coming back home I later bought the video and did not think it was so funny that time - that mood had passed.

Thanks Marian-I do not feel quite so bad now !!

I can watch Ken Dodd and Tommy Cooper-but I Would not say they are my favourites=George loved Tommy Cooper, and laughed even when he did not do anything !!

Tommy Cooper has been described as a genius. Many people may agree, but like him or not, having read a few comedians autobiographies I've learned that some of them either suffered with depression or were simply miserable sods and not the cheery happy people that we imagine them to be. :|

I believe Tony Hancock was the same L&H, a disturbed man and yet he was funny. I liked Harry Worth and Kenneth Horne.
